This study aims at analyzing the logistics industry in Ghana to determine the level of quality and sustainability of logistics applied by the logistics firms and therefore recommend appropriate improvement of the quality of logistic services for sustainable development.

Through intensive research has been done in the field, little practical approach has been undertaken to correct the ever-increasing environmental impact of logistics services. Green logistics is core in environmental protection which is a global initiative. It will minimize carbon dioxide in the atmosphere among other solid waste, thereby controlling the greenhouse effect. Sustainable development in logistics perseveres the environment for future business and human living; therefore plays a crucial role in enhancing the long-term goals of the logistic companies and other economic sectors.  The benefits of sustainable logistics cannot be underestimated, and being a contemporary issue, more research is inevitable. This study aims at examining measures of improving the quality of logistics for sustainable development.

 

Research methods

The research was qualitative. Various literature pieces were searched and analyzed in this research to extract important information to evidence the appropriate measures of improving the quality of logistics services for sustainable development. A semi-structured review was incorporated to enable the use of different types of narrative and methods to ensure adequate and convincing pieces of evidence were properly analyzed and evaluated.

When people are stressed up, they will always work to relieve their stress, and workplaces can be really stressful places. This means that if they were doing something, they would want to do it as fast as possible to get out of that place, regardless of the quality of work they will produce. If someone is angry, they will want to satisfy their anger, so some decisions made will bear the intention to get back at someone or make someone else feel what they are feeling. This will result in poor productivity. On the other hand, if someone is excited and happy, especially if it is as a result of something that has happened at the workplace, they will try their best to make other people feel happy; therefore, they will be more productive and efficient, and they will help out as much as they can. When someone is calm, they can make critical and rational decisions that benefit the employees and the whole organization.

 

Attitude is a set of beliefs, emotions, and behaviors towards a particular person, object, topic, or event. They are mainly a result of experiences in life as we continue living.

An employee’s attitude will always affect how he performs and the people around him when he reports to work. Attitude affects how a person reacts to their colleagues, employers, and customers. It greatly affects their perception of their job and workplace. If a person has a poor attitude towards certain people in the workplace, they will not be willing to be important team players when group tasks are given, which negatively affects the group’s success. When a person does not have a good attitude towards an employer or a certain type of task, when such a task is given, or the employer gives the task, that person will not properly do it. People with positive attitudes relate with others better, which will be a great determinant to the success of a group’s task if they are part of it. When tasks are given to them, they do it with positivity and produce remarkable results, hence more profit.

 

Attitude, emotions, and perception work to determine if an employer will be comfortable in the workplace and how he or she will interact with other employees and the employers. The more comfortable a person is, the more productive they become.
