1.
Describe the situation

This journal reflects my experiences this week based on ASCA Mind-set and Behaviour for Student Success framework. In preparation for my week, I focused on mindset standard M1; “Belief in development of whole self, including a healthy balance of mental, social/emotional and physical well-being” and MS 3, “Sense of belonging in the school environment.”

2.
Did you experience any challenges? Did you exhibit strengths? Did you learn something?

I applied my skills to help students understand bullying and its effects through engaging activities. This was in line with the theme of the week RESPECT FOR ALL.

3.
What were you feeling at the time of the situation?

I engaged students in an activity where they had to give different definitions to respect with examples. I also coordinated the students to perform a dance based on Aretha Franklin’s song ‘Respect,’ some teachers voluntarily joined, making it a perfect experience.

4.
Did you have any preconceived ideas? New insights?

After the performance, I launched the Anti-Bullying campaign. I defined with some examples and demonstrations to the students. I related bullying to the concept of tolerance to the students.

5.
What theories/concepts/classroom knowledge did you apply?

I introduced anti-bullying-based activities like ‘turning our backs on bullying’ in which students were to wear their clothes backward to remind them to castigate bullying activities.

6.
What was good or bad about the situation? Why do you say that?

The students enjoyed the activities and actively participated while appreciating the importance of respect for all. I also closed my sessions with students for counseling.

7.
What precisely would you do the same or differently next time?

I will introduce the Mix Matchday activity in which students were to mix and match socks or sneakers to represent diversity and fairness.

8.
What precisely will you do differently next time?

I will facilitate assemblies to discuss bullying and demonstrate the same. After the session on bullying, I engaged students in activities that involved mini-skits on bullying situations.

9.
How will this experience inform your future behavior, attitudes, or professional practice? Or, what steps are you going to take based on what you have learned?

In the future, we will discuss means of reducing bullying. Students suggested standing up to bullies, reporting bullies, and supporting friends who have been bullied.

Describe the situation:

The activity, in this case, involved participating in community development operations and activities such as policy formulation within the society. Community practices cultivate a strong sense of responsibility to the organization because the police officers and community members establish stronger ties. In the community-policing model, the officers are allowed complete freedom to solve issues within the community.

Did you experience any challenges? Did you exhibit strengths? Did you learn something?

The community was angry with the level of insecurity. It was not kind to security enforcement agencies and the efforts that were being made to ensure that the community is safe and secure against the commission of crimes.

What were you feeling at the time of the situation?

The officers are seemingly seen to be the most familiar with their communities and hence in the best position to foster close relationships with the society and develop practical solutions. Thus, active participation is encouraged as the individual officers are allowed to solve issues and come up with operational decisions suitable in their areas of operations. Hence, officers are viewed as a generalist rather than specialists.

Did you have any preconceived ideas? New insights?

First, not every individual elected to the community watch program or the law enforcement officers involved in the community policing program gets there with a civic- minded perception. Some people get incorporated into community protection for the wrong reasons.

What theories/concepts/classroom knowledge did you apply?

Community policing requires an organizational transformation in its approach, especially in the law enforcement department. A set of fundamental values instead of mere guidelines guide the entire service delivery to the community.

What was good or bad about the situation? Why do you say that?

All the people should be involved when developing security measures within the community or developing policies that affect people within the community.

What precisely would you do the same or differently next time?

Next time the authorities should implement a community practice approach in the community using a corporate system.

What precisely will you do differently next time?

Next time the activity will require creating awareness through mainstream media and social media platforms.

How will this experience inform your future behavior, attitudes, or professional practice? Or, what steps are you going to take based on what you have learned?

Organizational transformation requires integrating community policing values into the policies, procedures, mission statements, evaluations, and the hiring and promotions in various training programs and operations that describe the organizational activities and cultures.

Growing up with a single mother and life satisfaction in adulthood history assignment help company: history assignment help company

Richter, D., & Lemola, S. (2017). Growing up with a single mother and life satisfaction in adulthood: A test of mediating and moderating factors. PloS one, 12(6), e0179639. https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pone.0179639

The title of the article is clear and appropriate in the context of single motherhood. The title explains briefly what the research is about. The “life satisfaction in adulthood” basically means the impact of being raised by a single mother on oneself after growing up. In other words, it is the long-term effect of the single mother parenting to a child. Everything includes in the title is discussed in the article, and basically, the article is revolved under the title. The title also reveals the research study and predicts the objective of the article: “A test of mediating and moderating factors.” The title is also easy to read and attention-grabbing. The title contains vocabulary that is understandable to everyone and not limited to a specialist only. It does not contain technicalities and creates a vivid picture in which the reader can already see how the life of single mother parenting would turn out. The title also creates curiosity about the moderating and mediating factors, propelling the reader to read to find out. The title also reveals that this is a serious and conventional study, and throughout the article, this is maintained. There is no inclusion of fun or casualty in the title. Finally, the title contains essential keywords such as single mother, moderate and mediating factors.

Yes, the abstract is specific. The abstract contains specific terms such as single parenthood; Western societies; people aged between 18-66 years; and the specific number of the group who spent their lives raised by a single mother, specific number of children raised by both their parents, and the specific number of children who were partly raised by both their parents in their childhood but they later divorced. The abstract represents the article as it briefly describes the specific type of people who will be used in the research study. The abstract is in the correct form as it contains all the characteristics of a good abstract. First, it states the research problem in the opening statement “single parenthood is increasingly common in the Western societies, but only little is known of its long-term effects. Second, the abstract describes the abstract methods specifying the demographic who will be used in the research study. Third, the abstract contains the key results. After the research, it was found that children who grew under single mother parents and, to a low extent, those who experienced separation from their parents experienced persistently reduced life satisfaction at their old age due to control of their socio-economic status.

The purpose of the article is made clear in the introduction. As stated in the introduction, the purpose of the article is to study the differences in life satisfaction based on the differences in the structure of childhood family in a large representative German panel study. The study conducted in the article is aimed at the satisfaction of life, which is a highly admired characteristic that plays a significant role in the population’s citizenship, health, and longevity.

There are some errors of fact and interpretation which are caused by certain limitations. For example, single adulthood is increasing in Western countries is true, and even studies reveal that the United States is the leading state with the highest number of single-parent families. The error encountered in the research is minimized by estimation through the aggregation of all data to build a mean score. First, no evidence was found based on differentiation associations between being raised by a single mother in the western-oriented FRG compared to socialist GDR. Also, it was impossible to establish casualty as being raised by a single mother, and the satisfaction of life in adulthood could be affected by a third variable.
