society or are individuals responsible for the high mortality rate? Individuals

First, in this introductory paragraph, accommodate two of the most important ways you believe your opponents will use to advance their position. In other words, concede the compelling ways you know those arguing for the other side will give to defend their position. This would seem as if you were arguing against your position, but you are not. Essentially, you are simply establishing your understanding of the opponents’ point of view. Admitting that your opponents have valid reasons for their position does not weaken your argument. On the contrary, it strengthens it. Besides, if you do not admit to the presence of obvious sound reasons of your opponents, they will point them out to you, and that will weaken your case. Second, in this paragraph, the sentence that immediately follows your accommodation should be your position or thesis, and you MUST UNDERLINE IT. Your thesis or position must begin with an appropriate transition, such as “even though,” “however,” or “in spite of.” Finally, state at least three sound reasons that directly support your thesis in three separate sentences linked by transitions.
In each of your body paragraphs, paragraphs two, three, and four state one of your reasons explain it thoroughly and relate it to your position. Then directly cite a relevant source (evidence) to support the reason. In the next sentence(s), show how your quotation supports your reason. Thereafter, anticipate an objection to your stated reason and evidence. Now refute (Refutation) the objection. This means that you must have three sound reasons with a direct citation to support each reason.
Paragraph five, Conclusion. As for your conclusion, it is not enough to just summarize a conclusion. Among other things, your conclusion must call your audience/readers to action. In the case of particularly an argument of the sort you are pursuing in your essay, you need to tell the readers specifically what they must do to be sure. In other words, tell the readers which appropriate actions they must take to achieve the goal you want.

Topic: How KM will stem the tide of losing talent and improve communication among departments?

Note: This week’s reading about The KM Team(Chapter 12 – Knowledge Management Book) is very straightforward and should help you identify specific human resources requirements that might be needed to implement the recommended actions you will detail in your posting next week.

You will want to think about whether there is a need for a new leadership role to be created, where that leadership position might sit in the organization, whether there is a need for a substantial team of KM staff to implement your recommendations or whether KM responsibilities will be embedded in existing jobs. Keep an eye on the costs implications of your staffing ideas.

Complete the following:

Create a PPT presentation to include the transcript, using the template below, discussing the major points for this week:

Address the issue of losing personnel from the scenario example and how KM can help stem the tide of good people leaving the company.

Address the issue of production or company performance glitches mentioned in the case scenario. The presentation should include all of the issues presented to date to include Dawn/SECI model; Helmut; Harry and Imogine and missing files; Amid; Asian branch; cultural considerations and more. Please read the attached GDD employee scenarios.

Make at least three recommendations as to how GDD might effectuate KM practices to solve all the problems suggested in the case scenario.

Explain why these recommendations would work. Be sure to consider the multidisciplinary nature of KM and how these recommendations might reach across the company to touch all departments and divisions.

In the answer consider the company profile and case study facts to support the recommendations as well as the class material.

You must use course material to support your responses and APA in-text citations with a reference list.

PPT Transcript Template Example:

Create the PPT bullet points you would need to cover your answers in the slides.

Explain the ideas that support your bullets in the transcript in the notes section for each slide.

Slide 1:

Bullet: Knowledge Managers would collect information from all departments in GDD and share it with others for better strategic decision making.

Explanation: Look at the example given in the case study and support it with material from our readings and prior discussions to show the value to GDD.

This assignment must be typed in a Microsoft Word document with 12 pt. Times New Roman font. The text must be double-spaced on standard-sized paper (8.5″ by 11″) with 1″ margins on all sides, and a minimum of 3 (three) full pages in length including the references, if available.

If you have references, you should document your references including the in-text citations using the guidelines provided in the following publication:

American Psychological Association (2009). Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association. Sixth edition. Washington, DC: American Psychological Association.

You can use the following website to review a good example for using references in this format:

You will read the case study below, and answer all the questions.

Case Study:

You are a business analyst in an initiative that is in the process of defining, building, and implementing a new car booking system for a car rental company. You have been working on this initiative for the last 3 months and have documented approximately 100 different requirements from all stakeholders and other resources. Some of the stakeholders are listed as follows:

CFO (sponsor)

IS Steering Committee (Car rental company managers)

IT Department

Sales Department

Marketing Department

Maintenance / Repair Department

Branches all across the USA (Managers and employees)

Individual Customers

Organizational Customers (Corporates which rent vehicles regularly based on a contract)

Insurance companies

Travel agencies

Vehicle manufacturers

Government agencies (e.g., Department of Transportation, US Environmental Protection Agency)

Not-for-profit organizations (e.g., associations that were established to reduce the carbon emissions)

You are expecting to have a business case in the end of 6 months. You will submit the business case with alternative solutions to IS Steering Committee in the car rental company.

You chose an adaptive approach for a rapid delivery of business value in short iterations. Therefore, you are thinking of starting these iterations in 2 weeks, and having iterations every one month. You are expecting to have three iterations. You are planning to get feedback from the end users and customers during each iteration. In the end of each iteration, you will meet with IS steering committee members and some end users.

Please create a brief business analysis approach that will detail how you will conduct each iteration. (Refer to 3.1.4 “Elements” in BABOK Guide).

Solution definition (How will you create solutions in each iteration? Will you use

prototypes? Are there techniques that will help you with creating solutions in

each iteration?)

Level of formality (How will you ensure high level interaction in your team? How will you get feedback from stakeholders?)

Activities (Which activities will you have in each iteration? You will divide the work into iterations, identify the deliverables for each iteration, and then identify the associated activities and tasks. You don’t need to write in detail. For example, in each iteration, you will prepare for and conduct elicitation, and confirm elicitation results. Then, you can have requirements analysis and design definition. Finally, you can conduct solution evaluation.)

Timing (Duration of each iteration has been already specified in the case study.)

You also decided to conduct a document analysis. In the Preparation stage (10.18.3), include all possible documents that you can examine.

You should list the sources (documents) which are relevant to the objective of

your initiative. You need to consider if these documents are up-to-date, genuine,

and credible. You also need to consider if stakeholder can understand the content of this document easily. Some examples of documents are provided below:

A written work procedure or work flow

Reports from prior organizational studies

Organizational mission statements

Business plans (Strategic business and IS plans)

Organization charts

Business policy manuals

Job descriptions

Internal and external correspondence ix. Invoices

Choose five stakeholders, and place them on the Stakeholder Matrix (Figure 10.43.1). The vertical axis will be “Influence of Stakeholder” (Power of stakeholders) and the horizontal axis will be “Impact on Stakeholder” (Interest of stakeholders). Explain why you placed them in their quadrants.

Based on 3.3.4 “Elements”, create a Governance Approach. Your stakeholder matrix and the stakeholder list will be an important input for this output. Besides, use 10.35 “Process Modelling” to create a graphical model to show how change requests will be processed. Consider having another team member in your team to manage change requests. You should answer all these questions:

How will business analysis work will be approached and prioritized?

What is the process for proposing a change to business analysis information?

Who has the authority and responsibility to propose changes?

Who should be involved in the change discussions?

Who has responsibility for analyzing change requests?

Who has the authority to approve changes?

How will you document and communicate changes?
