The global drug trade has had a long and varied history that is still impacting the world today. In order to understand the current effect of the drug trade we need to understand its history and the relationship to globalization.

As healthcare patients behave more like consumers, they are demanding more personalized care and higher quality of care. My career objective is to satisfy consumer preferences and address current healthcare issues by applying innovations. In order to achieve this, I would need a holistic understanding of the healthcare system for determining where the problems and inefficiencies are. XYZ is a comprehensive health system with plenty of outpatient facilities, three ACOs, an insurance consortium, etc. Being such a comprehensive health system, XYZ can definitely help fulfill this need.
After getting acclimated to the broad spectrum of the health system, I wanted to gain exposure and learn about how innovations and technologies are operationalized within the health system. I believe that applying innovations in the right place can ultimately drive better patient health outcomes. XYZ fellowship can help because it is such an innovative health system with many innovative initiatives to advance care. XYZ is excel at leveraging technologies to elevate care. There are a wide variety of innovative applications at XYZ. For instance, the innovation projects range from physical matters like robotic surgery to virtual health products. There were also examples of innovation projects which past fellow and current fellow have worked on. These projects include Telemedicine, remote patient monitoring, and robotic transportation project. Hence, XYZ can undoubtedly meet my career objectives by providing me with sufficient ongoing innovation projects at XYZ.
Besides innovations, I also wanted to gain exposure to the strategic planning, business development, and finance aspects of healthcare. I believe that developing a strong business acumen is crucial for healthcare administrators’ success. Besides the individual finance projects, many projects at XYZ carry built-in finance components because the projects need to be financially sustainable to XYZ. Additionally, there were also examples of past fellow projects like the Healthcare Transformation Consortium development which involved strategy and business development. Moreover, XYZ Innovation Studio also offers plenty of business development and strategy opportunities as it is responsible for strategic partnering and business planning with vendors.
XYZ administrative fellowship is able to offer fellows meaningful projects which matter to the organization as well as fellows’ professional development.
