Foundations Of Mental Health Counseling free college essay help In this module, you have learned about counseling specialties, specifically group counseling, counseling children and adolescents, and counseling adults. The number of counseling specialties continues to grow. Some of the topics addressed in the previous module, such as disaster response and crisis intervention and counseling, are specialty areas that require additional training, skills, and knowledge. To develop a specialty, counselors-in-training are encouraged to review current literature and seek opportunities to attend workshops, classes, trainings, and seminars, and to get supervision from experts in those areas. The decision to specialize requires an understanding of unique developmental concerns. For example, counseling adults requires an understanding of the unique developmental needs of adults, which are vast and occur along a continuum. As counselors-in-training, it is important to remember that individuals change over time, from birth to well into late/older adulthood. These physical, cognitive, and social changes dictate how best to work with clients in various stages of development. For example, counseling interventions for a 14-year-old boy going through late puberty may be different from the interventions for a 35-year-old, divorced father of two and from those for a 73-year-old widower who recently retired and feels like he never accomplished much in life. As you reflect on the material covered in the module, think of how you might approach counseling yourself as a professional who specializes in counseling adults.
Tasks:
In a minimum of 200 words, post to the Discussion Area your response to the following:
Identity and describe the stage of adulthood you are in currently.
Explain how a counselor might know your current stage of adulthood (e.g., what is your lifestyle, what is of importance to you, what physical or developmental changes have occurred, what types of crises are present in your life?). **Please note that you are not expected to disclose any personal information that you do not want to share. Use your discretion.
When explaining the above, incorporate and describe your understanding of the developmental task(s) or crises you are facing in your current stage of adulthood.
What counseling approaches/methods are suggested for people in your stage of adulthood, and why do you believe they would or would not be helpful if you were in counseling?
Explain how the learning from this module will contribute to your professional growth as a new counselor-in-training.
Support your rationale and analysis by using at least two resources from professional literature in your response. Professional literature may include peer-reviewed journal articles you can access through the Argosy University online library resources; relevant textbooks; and websites created by professional organizations, agencies, or institutions (websites ending in .edu or .gov).
Be sure to read all of your classmates’ original posts and respond to more than two of your classmates’ posts. Your responses should be substantive, meaning they should encourage further dialogue and discussion, encourage your classmates to think about other aspects of the topic, compare your response to your classmates’ responses, or ask a relevant question, to better assist you with your understanding. Responses such as “I like/I agree” or “I don’t like/I don’t agree” are not complete enough.
Your discussion posts and all written assignments should reflect graduate-level writing skills and appropriate use of APA style, including in-text citations and references.
Submission Details:
By the due date assigned, post your responses to the Discussion Area.
Through the end of the module, respond to more than two of your classmates’ posts. Share one insight from the textbook, not in your classmates’ post, to demonstrate your understanding of their current stages of adulthood. Describe one noticeable difference in the type of help suggested for someone in your stage of adulthood compared to someone in your classmates’ stages of adulthood.

CASE STUDY (DEAN)
Dean is a White 16-year-old. He is a sophomore at George Washington Carver High School. He lives with his father and his stepmother in a semirural community in the South. His father and mother divorced when Dean was 8 years old, and both parents remarried shortly after the breakup. Dean’s mother moved to another state, and, although she calls him from time to time, the two have little contact. Dean gets along well with his father and stepmother. He is also a good “older brother” to his 5-year-old stepbrother, Jesse.
Dean’s father owns and operates an auto-repair shop in town. His wife works part time, managing the accounts for the business. She is also an active contributor to many community projects in her neighborhood. She regularly works as a parent volunteer in the elementary school library and is a member of her church’s executive council. Both parents try hard to make a good life for their children.
Dean has always been a somewhat lackluster student. His grades fell precipitously during third grade, when his parents divorced. However, things stabilized for Dean over the next few years, and he has been able to maintain a C average. Neither Dean nor his father take his less-than-stellar grades too seriously. In middle school, his father encouraged him to try out for football. He played for a few seasons but dropped out in high school. Dean has a few close friends who like him for his easygoing nature and his sense of humor. Dean’s father has told him many times that he can work in the family business after graduation. At his father’s urging, Dean is pursuing a course of study in automobile repair at the regional vo-tech school.
Now in his sophomore year, Dean’s circle of friends includes mostly other vo-tech students. He doesn’t see many of his former friends, who are taking college preparatory courses. Kids in his class are beginning to drive, enabling them to go to places on weekends that had formerly been off-limits. He knows many kids who are having sex and drinking at parties. He has been friendly with several girls over the years, but these relationships have been casual and platonic. Dean wishes he would meet someone with whom he could talk about his feelings and share his thoughts.
Although he is already quite accustomed to the lewd conversations and sexual jokes that circulate around the locker room, he participates only halfheartedly in the banter. He has listened for years to friends who brag about their sexual exploits. He wonders with increasing frequency why he is not attracted to the same things that seem so important to his friends. The thought that he might be gay has crossed his mind, largely because of the scathing comments made by his peers about boys who show no interest in girls. This terrifies him, and he usually manages to distract himself by reasoning that he will develop sexual feeling “when the right girl comes along.”
As time passes, however, he becomes more and more morose. His attention is diverted even more from his classwork. He finds it more difficult to be around the kids at school. Dean starts to drink heavily and is arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. He is sentenced to a 6-week drug education program and is assigned community service. His parents are disappointed in him because of this incident, but they believe he has learned his lesson and will not repeat his mistake. Dean’s father believes that his son will be fine as soon as he finds a girlfriend to “turn him around.”
Discussion Questions
1.
What are the issues facing Dean at this point in his development?
2.
Enumerate the risks and the protective factors that are present in his life.
3.
How would you, as his counselor, assess Dean’s situation? What approaches could you take with this adolescent? What kinds of psycho-educational interventions might you consider within the school setting?

Cross Culutral Relations essay help from professional writers 2: Present Kohlberg’s Heinz dilemma to several people. How did they respond to the dilemma? In their responses, could you see evidence of the three broad stages of Kohlberg’s moral reasoning—preconventional, conventional, and postconventional?
[Our knowledge of the development of moral reasoning skills, at least in the United States, has been heavily influenced by the work of a psychologist named Lawrence Kohlberg. His model of moral reasoning and judgment is based in large part on Piaget’s model of cognitive development. Inspired by Piaget’s theory suggesting that cognitive development proceeds in a predictable, invariant sequence, Kohlberg wondered if this was true of moral development as well. To find out, he presented participants in his study with hypothetical dilemmas and asked them to respond to the dilemma. He was interested not only in the content of their response, but more importantly, the reasoning behind their responses. The most famous of Kohlberg’s dilemmas is the story of Heinz: A woman was near death from a special kind of cancer. There was one drug that the doctors thought might save her. It was a form of radium that a druggist in the same town had recently discovered. The drug was expensive to make, but the druggist was charging ten times what the drug cost him to produce. He paid $200 for the radium and charged $2,000 for a small dose of the drug. The sick woman’s husband, Heinz, went to everyone he knew to borrow the money, but he could only get together about $1,000 which is half of what it cost. He told the druggist that his wife was dying and asked him to sell it cheaper or let him pay later. But the druggist said: “No, I discovered the drug and I’m going to make money from it.” So Heinz got desperate and broke into the man’s store to steal the drug for his wife. Should Heinz have broken into the store to steal the drug for his wife? Why or why not? Based on participant responses to dilemmas such as this one, he proposed a stage theory of moral development. Kohlberg’s theory of moral development (1976, 1984) proposes three general stages of development of moral reasoning skills. (Kohlberg further divided each of these three general stages into two stages, for a total of six substages of moral development.) 1. Preconventional morality involves compliance with rules to avoid punishment and gain rewards. A person operating at this level of morality would condemn stealing as bad because the thief might get caught and be thrown in jail or otherwise punished. The focus of the justification is on the punishment (or reward) associated with the action. 2. Conventional morality involves conformity to rules that are defined by others’ approval or society’s rules. A person operating at this level of morality would judge stealing as wrong because it is against the law and others in society generally disapprove of it. 3. Postconventional morality involves moral reasoning on the basis of individual principles and conscience. A person operating at this level of morality would judge stealing within the context either of societal or community needs or of his or her own personal moral beliefs and values, which supersede perceived societal and community needs. Gilligan (1982) has challenged Kohlberg’s theory by suggesting that its stages are biased toward the particular way in which males as opposed to females view relationships. She argues that male moral reasoning is based on abstract justice, whereas female moral reasoning is based on obligations and responsibilities. These two types of moral reasoning have been called “morality of justice” versus “morality of caring.” Despite the fervor of the debate, however, reviews of the research seem to indicate few gender differences in moral reasoning (Walker, 1984, 2006). It appears that variations between males and females in moral reasoning can be explained by other variables, such as education, occupation, or types of issues under consideration. Cross-cultural research may shed more light on this issue.]

Research Proposal essay help service: essay help service Post your proposed research topic for our class survey here. When we meet in class on Thursday (2/15) we will discuss each proposal topic briefly as we decide what topics our survey will incorporate. Keep in mind, we are going to be surveying the DU student body. Think about how your proposal might be best structured to be examined on a college campus.
For instance, you want to first select a topic you would like to study, but make sure it is sociological – i.e. having to do with people’s interactions, behaviors, and attitudes. (For example, dinosaurs would not be a valid topic.) And it must be able to be studied with a survey. (For example, “does warming up before running reduce muscle cramping?” is hard to address with survey data.)
Once you have a topic, narrow it down to a single answerable question. This step is important, because we cannot proceed with only a topic and no question. For example: “Student protest” is a topic, but it is not a research question. Rather, “Do student protests come from upper- or lower-class socioeconomic backgrounds?” is a research question, and it is one that would be ideal for a college campus population.
Next, identify your independent and dependent variables. Which is the cause and which is the outcome? In the example mentioned above, ‘class background’ is the independent variable (cause) and ‘protest’ is the dependent variable (outcome).
In your post be sure to include:
1. The research topic – what are you going to study?
2. Your rationale – why is this topic important?
3. The research question – what specific question do you hope to answer with our survey?
4. The independent and dependent variables – what is the cause and effect you are interested in?
You can post a bulleted list, you don’t have to compose a structured paper/essay. This post should be answerable in ~150 words. I have set this post to hide all responses until you have posted your own reply.

They could close us down, put us all out of our jobs!” Lisa continues, “I talked to Oconto Distributors (one of Linbarger’s largest customers) this morning. Fraud Detection And Investigation college application essay help Wild Ride opened its door three years ago, and Christine is one of its employees. Because the company is still young, management wants to keep costs low. Therefore, the company has not hired additional employees and, consequentially, there has been no segregation of duties. There are other employees who work in the company: Tommy (Receptionist/Secretary); Andy (Salesperson); and Janet (Advertising/Promotions).

You are a forensic accountant who has been hired to investigate this situation. You had an initial conversation with Christine. Below are some of the things she stated when questioned about what may have caused the lower than expected cash collections:
“Well, it’s the economy.”
“You know, times are tough for everyone, including our customers.”
“I’ve experienced tough times even when the economy was going well.”
You also learned that the four employees mentioned above are friends, and they often go to lunch together. Write a 2- to 3-page paper in MS Word responding to the following questions:
What documents/files would you want to see before interviewing anyone? Why would you request to see these particular documents?
What other procedures or evidence would you consider using to determine whether the suspicions are valid?
What should be the order of the interviews? Would you consider interviewing Tommy, Andy, and Janet? Why or why not? How would you go about interviewing Christine?

Manufacturing Overhead gp essay help: gp essay help Assignment 2: Manufacturing OverheadBorealis Manufacturing has just completed a major change in its quality control (QC) process. Previously, products had been reviewed by QC inspectors at the end of each major process, and the company’s 10 QC inspectors were charged to the operation or job as direct labor. In an effort to improve efficiency and quality, a computerized video QC system was purchased for $250,000. The system consists of a minicomputer, fifteen video cameras, and other peripheral hardware and software. The new system uses cameras stationed by QC engineers at key points in the production process. Each time an operation changes or there is a new operation, the cameras are moved, and a new master picture is loaded into the computer by a QC engineer. The camera takes pictures of the units in process, and the computer compares them to the picture of a “good” unit. Any differences are sent to a QC engineer, who removes the bad units and discusses the flaws with the production supervisors. The new system has replaced the 10 QC inspectors with two QC engineers.
The operating costs of the new QC system, including the salaries of the QC engineers, have been included as factory overhead in calculating the company’s plant-wide manufacturing-overhead rate, which is based on direct-labor dollars. The company’s president is confused. His vice president of production has told him how efficient the new system is. Yet there is a large increase in the overhead rate. The computation of the rate before and after automation is as follows:
BeforeAfterBudgeted Manufacturing Overhead1,900,0002,100,000Budgeted Direct Labor Cost1,000,000700,000Budgeted Overhead Rate1900%
“Three hundred percent,” lamented the president. “How can we compete with such a high overhead rate?”
Using the module readings and the Argosy University online library resources, research manufacturing overhead.
Review the situation. Complete the following:
Define “manufacturing overhead,” and:
Cite three examples of typical costs that would be included in manufacturing overhead.
Explain why companies develop predetermined overhead rates.
Explain why the increase in the overhead rate should not have a negative financial impact on Borealis Manufacturing.
Explain how Borealis Manufacturing could change its overhead application system to eliminate confusion over product costs.
Describe how an activity-based costing system might benefit Borealis Manufacturing.
Write a 3–4-pages paper in Word format. Apply APA standards to citation of sources. Use the following file naming convention: LastnameFirstInitial_M2_A2.doc.

Intermodalism & Technology 331
Reply 100 words to student maurice 331 forum post:
The advances in technology such as RFID, EDI, and the Internet affect the intermodal industry in that they assist with increasing speed of transport, the service, and of course profitability for the industry. RFID is a radio frequency identification which is used to describe a system using radio waves to wirelessly transmit the identity of an object or a person (RFID Journal, 2005). EDI is an Electronic Data Interchange and is a computer to computer communication which exchanges business documents in an electronic format between businesses (What is EDI, 2018). The Internet and the software businesses use can take the place of humans physically being present to work for the intermodal industry (Konings, Priemus, and Nijkamp, 2008). These technologies have been imperative and beneficial to retail customers using intermodal transportation to get their products to the market and for the dealing with supply chain management organizations. As interconnectivity and interoperability allow for customers to have choices when using intermodal transport (Konings, Priemus, and Nijkamp, 2008).
These technological advances have made it easier and more cost-effective for supply chain management and the intermodal industry to operate with real-time data to ensure freight arrives from one location to the next. Radio frequency identification can favorably affect billing cycles, the flow of material from mode to mode and reduce the amount of storage space usage and labor costs. Additionally, technological advances can reduce the theft of products in transport, ultimately improving customer satisfaction and the profitability of businesses. Technological advances in intermodal transportation will continue to be useful for all parties involved in the transport process and retail customers if they are continually used properly and more frequently.

Evaluating Performance class 341:
Reply 100 words to student Jermaine class 341:
Class, this week’s post ask the question what measures would you use to evaluate a company’s performance. The interesting thing about this question is that they used Amazon.com and at this time, I am in the process of evaluating their performance. However, before I can evaluate them, I must first identify the customer dimensions to factor it into value. The dimensions that I can use include product selection, relationships and experiences, product selection, price and brand, and value-added services. Depending on what value you are seeking, you can evaluate them on all of these or any separate one.
I have always had a great experience with Amazon for years with no issues. Their product selection has been vast enough to always meet my needs. Their prices have always been on point. Never too expensive for the items desire and always pretty comparable. I would often search for items on Amazon to compare their price to what other manufacturers were asking for to judge if the other vendors where asking too much. On the rare times I did have to return an item or something didn’t arrive, the customer service was top notched. My inquiries were answered within 12 hours and a resolution was immediately put in place.
However, right now I have a situation with 1 order that if I had to evaluate their performance it would not be well. I ordered a rug for one of my toilets on 26 February of this year only for the item to still have not been shipped or delivered. If you look at the item on their website, it clearly says ship from and sold by Amazon.com. However, when I inquired about it, they said they thought they had more stock from their supplier and then when I placed the order it was in stock, but currently is out of stock. What baffles my mind is that each time I go to the site and check my order and click on the link that I used to order the item, it sits there ready to be ordered. Nothing on the page says out of stock, or only a few left. In one of the correspondences with them they stated that I could order it again and just let them know and they will not charge me for the shipping, which I replied if you haven’t shipped it because it is out of stock, how is it possible for me to order it. They replied it would be from a different supplier. So, I am using relationships and experiences as well as value-added services such as communication and getting me my product to measure their performance. Contrary to every other interaction with Amazon they are failing miserably on this transaction.

Evaluating Performance class 341:
Reply 100 words to student Michael class 341:
What measures would you use in a business like Amazon.com to evaluate the company’s performance? The supply chain?
Measuring the performance of a business like amazon.com is not necessarily a measurement of a product, but a measurement of customer service, product processing and product selection. Fans of Amazon.com know that there is a wide selection product and that the customer service is fantastic. To measure the performance of Amazon and the products, Amazon uses a rating system. This rating system is open discussion type of rating and has a “star” rating. Individuals are able to rate their overall satisfaction with the stars, then document the individual’s experience in plain language. All of this is done in near real-time and allows market researchers to follow market trends more closely. Additional to this, the supply chain metrics will give market researchers an idea how a product is selling and point the researchers in the direction of the sellers that are offering the best deals and price points that the customer is willing to pay. Researchers are able to then know if a product is selling at its peak prices or if customers are looking for lower cost options. Essentially, they measure the customer satisfaction, how hot the market is and other bits of information that can be gathered from reviews, ratings, and how fast products are selling. Speed and accuracy along with flexibility determines the success of many companies. Using methods such as these allows Amazon to stay on top of the market.
Package Testing class 351
Respond 100 words to studen SHANT class 351:
Good Day Everyone,
This week we look at package testing from the folks at UPS. Last week I sent an item overseas via the UPS store. Watching the video this week, I thought about why UPS chooses the specific packaging offerings (size and shape) they do at their stores. UPS packages must endure many internal and external environmental factors to withstand fragile contents from being damaged. UPS uses a multitude of tests to ensure the endurance of the packaging is kept within the integrity parameters set by UPS. The UPS test facility tests various modes of transport delivery by having the packaging go through compression, vibration, sliding around, bouncing and falling simulation (Packaging Design, n.d.). There is a two-part sequence on how UPS tests; one is the compression/vibration test and the other is the impact/handling test. The compression/vibration test method simulates road movement and conditions. The impact/handling method, simulates the movements inside and around warehouse facilities (packages that are moved by forklift, humans, and other machines). Within the UPS lab, there is conditional forces that also are included in the test that tie into temperature, humidity, bursting, and fragility. Currently UPS runs five certified tests such as “bursting strength, edge crush resistance, compression, product shock fragility, and product vibration” (Packaging Design, n.d.). Many other companies such as USPS, FedEx, and DHL employ their versions and parameters for packaging durability testing. Proper package testing ensures that packages offered will withstand the internal, external, and environmental conditions placed on them.

Package Testing class 351
Respond 100 words to studen YARDEN class 351:
I haven’t yet read anyone else’s posts, but forgive me if I am not the first one to say that I did not even consider this to be a thing. I completely understand this now–especially from a quality control aspect–but I think like many people, I took packaging design and testing completely for granted. After watching the videos (FEDEX followed UPS’s vid), I see not only why this service is vital to any industry which ships their merchandise, but also vital for industries like FEDEX and UPS who make their name and stake their reputation on proper packaging designs, techniques and testing.
From a manufacturing perspective, the role of packaging testing is one that benefits everyone in any packaged product’s chain of custody. The manufacturer will need a strong package to ensure the product arrives at the customer in great shape. The shipping service expects to meet the manufacturer’s expectations when the product leaves the plant. And the customer expects to receive a quality product in the condition in which they’ve expected it to arrive.
From watching the videos, I can see many benefits in testing these packages to ensure they meet quality requirements–both from a rigidity standpoint as well as one of a moisture controlled standpoint (another aspect I never even considered). Additionally, the expenses a customer pays to either test and/or have a package designed for them are far less than having to plan reverse logistics models to get the product returned to the manufacturer and reimburse the customer.

Please note that key stakeholders may require changes to the original scope, and it is important that you consider the impact on the schedule and budget.
The mayor of San Bernardino, CA recently met with the chief of police, and the discussion focused on decreasing the number of traffic accidents. A recent study shows that San Bernardino has a fatal accident rate of roughly 16 deaths per 100,000 residents. Chief of Police, Jarrod Burguan, recommended to Mayor Carey Davis, the use of an automated enforcement system, which are units that can track a car’s speed and create a video file of each event. Mr. Burguan attended a presentation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) where he learned that fixed-camera speed enforcement units may reduce crashes by as much as 25%. After this discussion, Mayor Davis submitted the automated enforcement system proposal to the city council. The proposal was reviewed per normal procedures, and the feedback from the community was positive. While getting a speeding citation is unfortunate, the people of San Bernardino agreed that the problem needed to be addressed, especially since auto insurance rates were rising. To make the transition easier, Phase 1 of the project is to install the units in the 17 high-crash locations identified by the police department. Amanda Lancaster and Josh Cervantes were the two project managers from the City assigned to this important initiative. The schedule for the project was 14-months, and a budget of $2.3 million was approved. The money would cover all resource costs, including contractors, equipment, supplies, technology, and so on. At the 11-month mark, the project was behind schedule with only 8 units installed. The other notable problem facing Amanda and Josh was that all $2.3 million of the budget was spent. Aware of the situation, Mayor Davis has called Amanda and Josh for a meeting to discuss the situation.
For this piece of work, take the role of Amanda and Josh and provide responses to the following items:
a) What proactive actions do you believe Amanda and Josh could have taken to keep the project on schedule?
b) Given the project has spent the $2.3M budget, what is your recommendation regarding the nine (9) units that have to be installed? From a cost perspective, what are the options available to Amanda and Josh?
c) A key council member wants assurance that the project will be completed in three (3) months or less. How will you address this individual?
d) Amanda and Josh are concerned that people and equipment assigned for the project are sometimes unavailable when scheduled. What are reasons this problem might be surfacing during the execution phase?
e) Based on what you learned from this work, what are five (5) lessons learned that you can share with the project managers.
