Human Resource Perceptions
To me, Human Resource could be that person employees see when they have a problem. It is just a job, a management puppet and the fact that it happens to deal with a lot of confidential information and such people who do such job for living must be very different from themselves. No matter what the Human Resource professionals do, to some level we will always be subject to complaints or criticism. It is the nature of the job. If one is a member of the Human Resource team and expects love from all employees in an organization, then one needs to choose another profession.
My perception now is that, HR is responsible for compensation strategy and system, health benefits, organizational structure, recruitments, discipline in an organization and so on. Being an HR professional is an act of constant balancing of being an employee, acting in the organization’s best interest and maintaining compliance; handling employee relations with specific set of parameters and strategic approach (Cooke, Fang Lee, Debi Saini & Jue Wang, 2014).
