Besides these, migrants and immigrants face various social problems such as poverty, education, mental health, crime, and housing.  The beliefs and values of an undocumented migrant are relevant to the issue of the social effect of illegal migration on undocumented immigrants as through this study, I was able to identify the various ways that the US immigration system is not in alignment with the ideals of fairness and equality that the immigrants have expressed. Most of the time, the immigrants talked about how the system operates in an arbitrary and biased manner.

The three sources used all provided a wealth of informant to assist my investigation.

The social effect of illegal migration on undocumented immigrants. Illegal immigration to the US has been regarded as a serious national issue. Since the September 11 attacks, attention has been brought to border security. In general, a subject-centered approach focuses on the beliefs, values, and perceptions of individuals whose behavior the law seeks to regulate.

Findings of the The Promise of a Subject-Centered Approach to Understanding Immigration Noncompliance study revealed that prospective immigrants’ perceptions of the legitimacy of immigration authorities and laws were related to their intentions to illegally cross the border.

The beliefs and values of an undocumented migrant are relevant to the issue of the social effect of illegal migration on undocumented immigrants as through this study, I was able to identify the various ways that the US immigration system is not in alignment with the ideals of fairness and equality that the immigrants have expressed. Research Paper – Here Today…Gone Tomorrow

If you do not know which evidence-based therapeutic approach you want to research, then go to this website: California Evidence-Based Clearinghouse for Child Welfare https://www.cebc4cw.org/

Go to Program Registry/Topic Areas/Programs/List of Topic Areas and choose from there.

If you do know which evidence-based therapeutic approach, then go ahead with the following directions. Once you’ve chosen your approach, follow these directions below.

Per the instructions on the assignment, answer these questions:

What current evidence-based intervention for the treatment of mental health and/or substance use disorders do you suspect will not be used in the future because it will be proven to be ineffective, harmful, and/or unethical?

To answer this question, please follow the below format.

First, please describe the evidence-based intervention you are critiquing. In this section, you provide evidence for why the intervention is currently considered evidence based.

Remember your research will need to come from Academic Searches, EPSCO-host, or some government website. Additionally, you can speak with the IU South Bend librarian to get help in researching articles.

If you choose to write about a therapeutic approach in the Barlow text, remember that at the end of the chapter there are many SOURCES cited. You can reference those to help answer these two (2) questions.

Second, please provide rationales for why you suspect the intervention will NOT be used in the future because it will be proven to be ineffective, harmful, and/or unethical. Remember the point of this question is that research changes and some approaches do have flaws, and found to not be effective overtime because they do not consider culture, ethnicity, age groups, etc. Consider diagnoses, for example. Homosexuality was classified as a mental disorder in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) beginning with the first edition, published in 1952. You can see that sexual orientation was not a consideration in the research at that time.

Most articles you read will list the limitations of the study and critique the therapeutic approach. Some processes for peer-reviewed articles are flawed.

Please include 3-4 reliable sources from Peer-Reviewed articles, academic books, or government websites.

If you see an article cited many times, then it is a seminal article and probably very good and reliable.

Also, try and include an article as a source that is within the last 5-10 years.
