terms that people often pronounce differently my assignment essay help london: my assignment essay help londonAs we all now realize, everyone has an accent. This is due to our dialect variations, even if we speak the same language. For this assignment we are going to explore some small differences in how we pronounce our words.
1. Select 5 terms that people often pronounce differently. You may use any of the terms found in the text or powerpoint presentation, or select your own. Just be sure that they are terms which people often in fact pronounce differently. Some examples include: Aunt, caramel, route, vase, Caribbean…You may use these if you cannot think of any.
2. Survey 3 people and ask them how they pronounce your 5 words. (Try not to choose all family members since, families often use very similar pronunciations.) Phonetically jot down how they pronounce the words. Refer to your IPA charts–provided in Modules, Week 2 Linguists’ Toolkit. Pay attention to how it may be different.
3. Write up your experience. List the 5 words you chose. Describe if there were any differences in how the 3 individuals pronounced them. (Do your best on your IPA transcriptions). For example, was it the vowel sounds that were different? Speculate why there were similarities and differences. For example, was one of the individuals surveyed originally from New York? This assignment should be approximately 500 words. Include your word count in bold at the end.

Equality And Justice assessment Assignment need essay help

Equality and Justice Assignment
The Due Date:
Purpose:
The purpose of this assignment is to have you practice the skills necessary in:
1. Identify and apply a variety of epistemological, metaphysical and ethical theory
2. Evaluate and differentiate between an epistemological, a metaphysical and an ethical question
3. Understand and apply the criteria of correct philosophical reasoning
4. Present a solution to a philosophical problem
But, in a round-about way, each of the outcomes is present. And with this, we will have hit on all of the outcomes for this class, in one way or another.
Task:
In the text as well as in the module pages, there are explanations of various kinds of equality, arguments for that kind of equality, and issues with implementing that kind of equality. For example, there was equality of the distribution of money, the utilitarian reasoning for this, and the impracticality issue with it. Your task is to:
(A) Explain the kind of equality you wish to discuss (money, opportunity, or political)
(B) Explain, in your own words, the reasons why someone might want this kind of equality/to think that it is moral.
(C) Explain, in your own words/with your own examples, the issues with that kind of equality.
(D) Explain what you think about the reply (whether it’s good or bad) and why.
Each of these should take you around a paragraph to answer. Each of them is worth 5pts. Labeling your paragraphs with ‘(A)’ through ‘(D)’ according to what part you are talking about in them will make grading very fast and easy for me. Since this is worth 20pts, this is worth 5% of your total grade.
Submission:
To submit this assignment, I only accept .pdf, .doc, .odt, and .docx. I do not accept .pages. You can find where to submit in the upper right of this screen. As for all assignments in this class, the standard is Times New Roman, 12pt font, double spaced, 2-3 pages (that is, at least a few words onto the second page to the bottom of the third).
Tips for Success:
Always be sure that you have the correct amount of information, adding fluff will only get you so far.
Be sure that you have adequately answered the prompts.
Adding personal examples will make this task more enjoyable for you to write and for me to read.
The amount of space taken up by a header will be subtracted from the total length.

a full and meaningful friendship between men get essay help: get essay helpI believe men can have a strong bond, share thoughts and feelings,  express ourselves honestly, and have a full and meaningful friendship.  Mary Hunt explained the female friendships as ‘right relationships’  based on love, embodiment, power, and spirituality. She goes on to  explain each of these elements of ‘right relationships’ to manifest  friendships, which are both “liberating and witness to it”(Vernon,  2010). Unfortunately, I cannot draw from any personal experiences with  female friendship, but I can talk to my friends about it. One friend I  asked said, “I have close friendships with other women because we go  through the same experiences,” That leads me to believe that men, can  have that type of friendship as well. When asking my sister, she  replied, “I prefer the company of men because they do not judge.” I  found that observation interesting, in that I have at no point felt  judged by my male friends, instead when I do something I would consider  “judge worthy” my friends usually tell me how they would have handled  that situation.
I do not think any changes need to happen necessarily with friends  between men, but instead, we need to continue on our gradual  improvements on the idea of how to define a man in western cultures. As I  mentioned in my last discussion, generationally speaking, male friends  today are different than male friends of 60 years ago. The newer concept  of the “metrosexual male” coined by Mark Simpson and described as a man  “who consumes in all the best gyms, clubs, shops and hairdressers  (Vernon, 2010)”, could help speed the progress along. Metrosexuals  aren’t just the guy at your gym wearing yoga pants with a man-bun in his  hair, but also the man who wants his shirts to fit well because he  wants to look ascetically pleasing to the eye. I think the term  metrosexual will be incredibly short-lived in history as it is just the  “missing link” between what we were and what we will soon be as a  gender.

Based on what you have learned about the Patients’ Bill of Rights and autonomy, do you believe this basic patient consent form adequately informs patients of their medical rights? Explain your answer in detail and use a reference for support.
Would the basic consent form for Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy be understood by the average person in the United States with a reading ability of a typical 8th grader? Explain your answer.

Changes in social stereotypes on LGBT buy essay help: buy essay help

Changes in social stereotypes have improved the way that most people  view the LGBTQ community. A few things factor into this, I believe. One  is the gradual agnosticism that is taking over the country as well as  mass public acceptance of alternative lifestyles culturally. The way  homosexuals have were treated throughout history was horrifying. in 1533  in England, homosexuality was a crime punishable by hanging (Pickett,  2009)  even today in countries like Afghanistan and other middle east  nations where Sharia Law is followed, homosexuality is punishable by  death. Even Angela Mason argues that homosexuals have been “The most  sexually stigmatized group within society (Vernon, 2010).”
Only within most of our lifetime have we seen drastic changes happen  in the LGBTQ community. With the public acceptance of homosexuality, we  are now able to study and explore the culture at a macro level.  Friendships that developed between homosexuals tend to have a stronger  bond. Andrew Sullivan describes the types of friendship shared by two  homosexuals as not centered around shared interests, but rather the  alliance and shared experience between the two in a world where  homosexuality is often considered a taboo (Vernon, 2010). We can look to  the modern homosexual friendship as a blueprint of what a bond can be  at its highest level. Not many things can bring people closer than the  feeling of being hated by society and not allowed to express yourself  without the fear of public humiliation or worse the fear of death.  Philosopher Michel Foucault, A leading figure on postmodern thought,  wrote that even psychologists in the late 1950s tried to mask  homosexuality as a form of pathology. Foucault strongly influenced queer  theory and was at the forefront of the early days of equal rights for  homosexuals (Pickett, 2009).
The difference between what I consider to be typical inside a  friendship and what my grandfather thought to be normal is as different  as day and night. My grandfather, being a WWII Veteran and a former  leader in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, had different  views on friendship than me. He had a few close friends that he knew  almost nothing about besides their favorite baseball teams and what they  bring to the table when fixing a classic car. I would imagine their  only interactions being a stern handshake and conversations about who  they think will win a sporting event of some sort. His friendships are  vastly different than my close male friends and me. We know everything  about each other. We often greet each other with a warm hug and often  talk about personal things. The taboo that would have been in my  grandfathers’ mind when interacting with other men has slowly gone away  because the acceptance of homosexuals in our community has also allowed  non-homosexuals to connect deeper than before.

Higher Calling Of Friendship assignment grad school essay help: grad school essay help

We learned about the rarity of what Aristotle calls “soul  friendship” or what Emerson calls “divine” friendship. Most philosophers  concur that cultivating such a friendship requires an openness to it,  an awareness that it will not likely occur, and a stringent honesty and  affection.
In this week’s reading material, the following philosophers discuss  their views on this topic: Saint Augustine, Aristotle, Plato,  Kierkegaard, Kant and Thomas of Aquinas. Make sure to incorporate their  views as you answer each discussion question. Think about how their  views may be similar or different from your own. In at least 350 words  total, please answer each of the following, drawing upon your reading  materials and your personal insight:

If “soul friendships” represent our highest attainment of friendship  and require great honesty and pure love, what might be our ethical  obligation to attempt to nurture such friendships?
Analyze, drawing upon examples from your own life, whether such  friendships are possible and explain some of the ethical considerations  that accompany them.

Strategies and Emerging Markets Discussion essay help free

Assignment 1: Discussion—Strategies and Emerging Markets
Jensen (2012) states “there is no simple answer or one-size-fits-all strategy that guarantees success in every negotiation” (para. 2). Jensen (2012) explains that a good negotiator “is not only someone who can close the deal, but who also has a strategy, understands the value of cooperative partnerships, and sees opportunities for creating added value above and beyond considerations that are typically restricted to only price and quantity” (para. 7). In this assignment, you will explore the negotiation process and negotiation strategies.
Using the module readings, Argosy University online library resources, and the Internet, respond to the following:

What are the main types of negotiations and in what situation would you use one more than another?
Could I use the same negotiation style if I were in China as I would Russia? Why or why not? Use examples to illustrate your point.
What is the difference between negotiation tactics and negotiation strategies? Are both required for successful negotiations? Why or why not?

Write your initial response in a minimum of 200–300 words. Apply APA standards to the citation of sources.
By Week 4, Day 3, post your responses to the appropriate Discussion Area. Through Week 4, Day 7, comment in approximately 75 words on at least two of your peers’ responses.

Film Analysis of Anthropology Perspective essay help appProject Two: Film Analysis

Description:
This assignment is intended to have you take a more critical look at a popular film or documentary in which culture plays a major theme and to analyze the anthropological content of the film. You will select a film from the list below and use that as your “data” for an ethnographic analysis. Most of the films listed can be found online through YouTube, Netflix or Hulu and at worst, can be rented through Amazon for no more than $3.99 or so.

Format:
A complete assignment should consist of 3-4 pages. The analysis should be typed using 10-12 pt font and be double-spaced, with 1-inch margins.

Instructions:
1. Select your film.
a. If you want to watch a film that is not on the list but in which culture plays a major role, talk to me about it. This list is large but not complete. However, your choice should be a film that you have not seen before.
2. Watch the film. Consider how culture is part of the film. Think about these questions and take notes – your film may not relate to all of these:
a. Describe the element of culture and explain how it is represented.
b. What class concepts do you recognize in this film? This means any class concept from the beginning to the end of the semester.
c. Why is this topic important/interesting?
d. How do people relate to different cultures? How do people use culture to relate to each other?
e. What does the use, placement, or discussion of culture tell us about the larger society in which the film takes place?
f. What are the social groups, power relations, and personal interactions that typify the characters in the film? Analyze them as if they were people in a research project.

The key is to look at everything. Remember context. Culture can act as a framework, setting, lens, symbol, vehicle, material culture, event or focal point. Concentrate on the human behavior and how it describes the culture in that moment and in that setting—context is everything! Remember, be holistic and comparative. What does this film say about the society in which it is set? How does the exploration of culture help them say it?
3. Write your analysis. Include the following:
a. Introduction – what is this paper about? Briefly introduce the paper. Include a brief plot summary – talk about the movie – BRIEFLY – to set the context
b. Key themes and anthropological concepts found in the film. What anthropological concepts are illustrated in the film? What aspects of culture are illustrated in the film?
c. Conclusion. What are you conclusions on the topic? Tie your analysis together in one final paragraph or two.

Possible Film Options:
Asoka (2001)
Atanarjuat: The Fast Runner (2001)
Black Girl (1966)
Boys Don’t Cry (1999)
Brightness (1987)

random surveys on a sample of Americans descriptive essay help: descriptive essay help

In this assignment, you will use web-based data and reports to document an example of surveys on American values. The paper must include a minimum of 5 references in APA format at the end of the paper (Note that any references in the references list should be cited in the body of the paper).
Before writing your paper, access the web-site below:
https://www.prri.org/research-home/
Findings presented by The Public Religion Research Institute represent a random sample of Americans who were respondents in the PRRI American Values Survey.
Choose one of the major topics, click on “Read the Analyses,” and report findings presented in the PRRI website. Choose at least two of the major findings reported in the Analyses for that topic to discuss.
(1) Write a 4-5 page double spaced paper that presents two major findings about your chosen topic with an explanation of their significance using 5 reliable and reputable sources (You may use some news outlets that present information in an unbiased way such as NPR or a research organization that does independent analysis, but avoid media outlets with an obvious partisan slant such as Fox News on the one hand, or MSNBC on the other; several of your sources should be from the class or from peer reviewed articles outside of class that you have identified using a library search).  The details are up to you, but you should demonstrate a good understanding of how to situate the findings in relation to broader themes from literature in the course, or to do the additional research necessary while relying on reputable sources..
(2) Organize your paper using the general format of I Introduction II Body/Narrative III Summary/Conclusion.
(3) In the Summary/Conclusion of your paper include a paragraph on the lessons you learned from class and external material, in particular, by addressing how your analysis explains at least in some way the relationship between American values and the respondents’ attitudes about social issues.
(4) Use APA in-text citation formatting when referencing assigned material and include a list of sources in APA citation formatting at the end of the paper.
(5) Edit and submit to spell-check.

Social Work and Violence assessment assignment college essay helpSocial Work and Violence
Please note:  You may propose to focus your assignment on a specific form of violence experienced by men; however, please be advised that if your proposal is approved you must still use the assignment format below (including a consideration of why it is an important issue for feminists).

Part 1: Research Assignment (20%)
For the topic area selected, students are asked to conduct a review of the relevant research, conceptual, and theoretical scholarly literature on this topic addressing the following issues (as appropriate or relevant to the topic):

Key concepts and/or definitions that may be needed for your reader to understand this issue
Prevalence and scope of this form of violence (e.g. How common is this form of violence? Do we have a sense of how many women are likely to experience this form of violence?)
Victims’ experiences of this form of violence (e.g. What do we know about the characteristics of individuals who are most likely to experience this form of violence? Are there specific factors or circumstances that elevate the vulnerability to violence for some victims? What do we know about how this specific form of violence impacts the lives of the women who experience it?).

Please note:  You are welcome to include qualitative data, narratives, or quotes from victims about their experiences of violence if you are able to find such data in public sources (such as qualitative research studies, personal blogs, media accounts, etc.)

Overview of the state of research knowledge on this topic (e.g. Are there major topics, trends, or themes that emerge across the literature you’ve reviewed on this topic?  Are there controversies in the field or points of contention? Are there significant gaps in the literature on this topic or things we still just don’t know?)
Significance of this issue for feminist anti-violence activists (e.g. Why is this form of violence an important area of concern for feminists?  How might feminist anti-violence activists frame or approach this issue?)
Significance of this issue for social workers (e.g. Why is this form of violence an important area of concern for social workers?)

Your review of the literature should be 7-9 pages (double spaced, excluding cover page and reference list).  In the paper, students must cite a minimum of six external sources (at least four of which must be peer reviewed journal articles from the scholarly literature published in the last 15 years) that were not required readings for this course.
Sources from the required reading list for the course may be used in addition to (but not in lieu of) the six external sources from outside of the class.
Part 2: Newspaper Op-Ed Piece (10%)
For the second part of this assignment, students are asked to take what they learned from their review of the literature in Part 1 to craft a newspaper op-ed piece to educate the public on this topic.
Note:  650 words is approximately 3 pages (double space, Times Roman Numeral)
Remember, newspaper op-ed commentary pieces are meant to be persuasive in nature. They are intended to persuade the public to think about a particular issue in a particular way. As such, op-ed pieces have a central thesis that the author is trying to prove.  Sometimes the thesis is as simple as “this is an important issue that you should care about and here’s why.”  Sometimes the thesis challenges the reader to think about the issue in a new way and/or challenges common stereotypes, misconceptions, or misinformation about an issue. Sometimes the thesis proposes a specific solution to the issue or argues that one type of solution will be more effective than another solution that has been proposed. Whatever the specific nature of your thesis happens to be, good op-ed commentary pieces make the reader care about your topic and think about it from a specific perspective.  Although op-ed pieces may vary, most contain a similar structure:
Paragraph 1:
·  The hook:  Here you say something compelling or interesting to draw in your reader, capture their attention, and make them want to read more (it could be an anecdote, a staggering statistic, a provocative question, a vivid image, a popular culture reference…anything that makes your reader want to keep going).
·  The context:  Here you say something briefly to explain the central issue and provide a brief background of the issue.  Remember, you are talking to the general public, not social workers, academics, or specialists in the field of violence.  Assume that your reader is intelligent but has limited knowledge of the specific issue that you are raising.  Avoid use of “jargon” if possible; if not, make sure that you explain any terms that might be unfamiliar to those in the general public.
·  Thesis:  Here you say in clear terms your central premise (what it is that you want the reader to think about the issue).
Paragraphs 2 and 3 (more if needed):
·  The evidence: Here is where you make your supporting arguments (aka why the reader should agree with you). Provide multiple pieces of “evidence” to make your case.  Persuade your reader.  Some people are persuaded by “the head” (statistics and research findings), other people are persuaded by “the heart” (stories, narratives, personal experiences that humanize an issue). Whatever evidence you choose to use, make it compelling.
Paragraph 4 (or more if needed):
·  The rebuttal: Here is where you anticipate a counter-argument (aka why someone might not agree with you). Name it, and then tear it down! Why is the possible rebuttal flawed, based on inaccurate information or assumptions, or simply not relevant?
Final paragraph:
·  The conclusion: This is your last chance to bring it home.  Summarize your main points and emphasize what you want your reader to take away from your piece.  Do you want them to think differently?  Do you want to call on them to take a specific form of action?
Op-ed pieces are short and sweet (remember, you have a maximum of three double spaced pages to work with here), so you’ll need to fine tune your argument to pack the most punch in the least space possible. Use this as your chance to educate the public about your issue and to get them to care.

role of heroes in storytelling and stories college essay help nyc

Hi folks,
For the last few weeks, we’ve been focusing on the role of heroes in storytelling and stories. Often times, we see heroes as the bravest among us. But what is true bravery? Is it simply not showing fear? This is a question that researcher-storyteller Brené Brown explores in her Netflix special “The Call to Courage”. This week, I’m asking you to watch that special, and respond to the following questions in a typed response.

Before watching the special, how would you have defined courage? What did it or does it still mean to you, personally.
What is one surprising message or idea regarding courage that you learned by watching Brown’s special?
Is there an instance in your life or relationships wherein being brave – in the sense of vulnerability – might have a positive impact? Describe the situation and how being vulnerable may have a good effect on it.
How will you implement or use what you’ve learned from this special moving forward, in our interactions with friends, loved ones, classmates, or even coworkers? What specific strategies or new approaches come to mind?
Finally, name one instance in which you wish you’d been brave, but weren’t. Reflect on how the outcome might have been different if you’d chosen bravery.

Your response should respond to all of the questions above, be at least one full page long, be typed in Arial 12-point font, and be double-spaced.
I Need it for tomorrow before 11:59 am, eastern zone time, im in florida.

adapting to the many different cultures and languages gp essay help

“Homophily  – the notion that people connect with others who are similar to  themselves – is a basic principle of social relationships (McPherson et  al. 2001). Research has dem- onstrated that friendships reflect  homophily where individuals choose friends who are similar to themselves  on the basis of gender, age, race, social economic status, and sexual  orientation”
Personally I think that my friendships are very diverse. Being a kid  from Hawaii, I have had the pleasure in experiencing a very wide and  diverse crowd of people. I’d like to say Hawaii has almost every race  and social economic status. Having to adapt to the many different  cultures and languages and slang to really understand and bond with  people were very important to survive in Hawaii. One thing about living  here in Hawaii was respect of cultures took you a long way.
I think a  experience that benefited me the most was when living in Bahrain. One  night I had decided to explore the city named Juffair. I had no idea  where I was, and at 18 years old in a foreign country all I cared about  was drinking at a bar. I found myself getting pretty drunk in a local  bar near the gold souq market. One of the taxi cab drivers noticed that I  wasn’t from the area and saw that I should probably go home. Luckily I  was able to comprehend and understand he was asking me if I wanted a  ride home. After that time he took me home I used him as my primary  means of getting around and teaching me more about his culture and the  Arabic language and culture. I found myself struggling alot with  speaking to the women there . This taxi cab driver taught me different  phrases and saying they use in the arabic language. I ended up dating an  arabic woman there because of him .
So shout out to my Habibi for allowing my experience of Bahrain to be completely different than most people.

categories of friendships existing in the workplace high school essay help: high school essay help

To a certain extent I would personally agree with sociologist findings  pertaining to the sincerity of my work colleagues. Though at times you  may see your co-workers more times than your family during the week,  they may still not know who you truly are. This kind of relationship is  based on mutual activity and are easy to form due to the fact you don’t  have to share too much of yourself to find in commonality amongst one  another. In books 8 and 9 of Nicomachean Ethics, Aristotle identifies  two categories of friendships that exist in the workplace as intrinsic  and extrinsic. According to Aristotle, a intrinsic friendship was the  perfect friendship. He states this by saying “Perfect friendship is the  friendship of men who are good, and alike in virtue; for these wish well  alike to each other qua good, and they are good in themselves. Now  those who wish well to their friends; for they do this by reason of  their own nature and not incidentally…(Aristotle, 1156b7-9)^3.)” What  this kind of friendship means to me is that you do something for one  another without regard to self-reward.
When it comes to work you  don’t truly know someone’s intentions on whether they are befriending  you vs friending you. Vernon states when referring to business, “A  capitalistic system fosters distrust among members of society; in part,  because no one can ever trust anyone else”. I disagree with this view  based on the I don’t see work relationships as being a trust or not  trust relationship depending on if your safety is depended upon someone  else. Most people just want to come to work to work and get their job  done so that they may return to their families which aligns with  Aristotle’s views that “…They like each other only insofar as it does  them some good…They are friendly because its beneficial to be so”.
My  experience with enacting friendships of utility to secure my employment  have been well. Through observation of how others treat one another and  gossip about one another when things aren’t going their way, I learned  to not get very close to people I work with and to just come to work to  work. I do believe this is ethical because I am not leading anyone on in  a false friendship and I also believe people are allowed to create  personal boundaries of who is allowed full access into their personal  lives without having to pretend.

Urban Economics from American Community Survey essay help from professional writers: essay help from professional writersEcon Paper Guidelines
Topics for this paper should be related to American Community Survey data that you have been exploring on the American Factfinder website.  Examples of topics include how immigration, educational attainment, an aging population, occupational distribution, population density, or poverty influence metropolitan area development.
Duringthe semester, you will submit this paper in five sections. This document is intended to provide you with an overview of this assignment.  I will provide more detail in class about the five sections of this paper.  After you submit each section of this paper, you will not receive a grade but will receive feedback on how to improve your submission. You can revise these sections before you submit your final paper at the end of the semester at which timeit will receive a grade on the paper.
The first section of this paper is the introduction.  In this section, you will provide some background or a problem statement related to the topic of your choice about metropolitan area development and how testing your hypothesis will shed light on this topic.  The American Factfinder assignments that you are completing this semester provides you with data that you can use to complete this paper. Your topic will need to be able to be analyzed using American Community Survey data. This introduction should be no longer than one page.
Next, you will submit a three-page literature review. This literature review will have between three and five citations and will be similar to a paper you have written for your first-year seminar.  This literature review will highlight issues related to your topic.
The next two sections will be your data and methods section and results. These are two distinct but related sections. The data and methods section is similar to the road map used to analyze the data to test yourhypothesis. By following this road map, another person could recreate your analysis. In the data and methods section, you first provide an overview of the American Community Survey.  In another paragraph, you will identify the American Factfinder tables that you are using for this analysis and the transformation of the data that you make. You will then identify that you will construct scatter plots with these data to test your hypothesis. In the results section, you will create and interpret the results of the scatterplot (e.g., the percentage foreign bornin metropolitan areas is related to an increase in the regions’ medianhousehold income).  The data and methods section should be one page and the results section should consist of one page for each hypothesis tested.
The last section of the paper is the discussion. It is here that you connect the previous parts of your paper. The results should be discussed in relation to the motivation or problem statement identified in your introduction, the previous research identified in your literature review, and with any policy issues related to this course.
At least one week before each of these sections will be submitted, I will spend class time providing more details onhow to write these sections. Therefore, it is important to be present for these classes.  After providing an overview of this paper assignment after the first exam, I will develop a timeline for submission of the sections of the paper.  The final paper is to be submitted on the last day of class.

The moral and legality of Abortion Assignment assignment help sydney

The Due Date:

As was explained in the lecture, the main question behind whether abortions are permissible concerns on whether fetuses are people. Your task is to take a route that she takes and then answer the following:

As humans living in society, we develop an understanding of the word “power”.  As children our parents had power over our actions, as students our teachers had the ability to punish us, and as citizens those in authority could castigate us for breaching the law.  Through these relationships we were able to grasp that through our relationships we were able to affect one another.  Though we come to realize the general meaning of power and what it implies, a concrete definition of power in society is difficult to generate.

understanding of cultural competence popular mba argumentative essay help: popular mba argumentative essay helpIn this unit you explored five different cultural groups and the need for cultural competence. As was discussed by Zunker, we must understand our own assumptions, values, and biases, as well as the world view of others; and then develop appropriate strategies and interventions. The goal of this assignment is to demonstrate your understanding of cultural competence, your limitations as they relate to career counseling, and your plan to develop the needed skills.
For this assignment, choose a cultural group of which you are not a member and create a persona for a fictitious member of that group. Address the following elements in your assignment:

Describe a fictitious persona from your chosen cultural group, that you will use as your client or student. For example, if you are an African-American male you may choose to write about a person who identifies as female, Navajo American Indian, married with five children, living on a reservation, forty years old with a high school education.
Analyze how societal norms such as gender, age, culture, socioeconomic status, or other characteristics may have influenced your client’s career development. You need to select a minimum of three characteristics or diversity issues. How might these factors impact the person’s relationships with others and life roles? What strategies would you use?
Assess how biases and assumptions can impact the career counseling process both from your perspective as the counselor and from the perspective of the client or student.
Self-assess your own biases and describe how you will work to decrease these biases when working with diverse populations.

Your assignment should be 4–5 pages in length, include at least three references, and follow APA style and format. Review the Diversity Issues in Career Counseling Scoring Guide to understand the grading criteria for this assignment.

friendships among differently abled people college application essay help: college application essay helpIn the research project by Peggy Hutchinson it was, not  surprisingly, found that differently abled people have the same desire  for social interactions as the people around them; such as “intimacy,  affection, and companionship. Others, however, were more unique or  important to people with handicaps because of their vulnerability, such  as having less reliance on services and family, advocacy, and greater  chance of having a normal life” (Hutchison, 1990).
I think the ways that differently abled people are able to enjoy deep  and meaningful friendships are actually quite similar to those outside  the community. Being a high school teacher, I see friendships blossom  for both sides of this discussion in a lot of similar ways and it starts  with putting themselves out there, being social, meeting people but as  Sam, Adam, and Gemma discussed, there are times that just the act of  getting out there and being social can be short circuited by classmates  whom lack basic social skills and find a way to further isolate them,  not only from the bullies but from the other classmates too. In my  opinion, this is almost the worst kind of bullying because it involves a  child whom already had a sense of not belonging, not fitting in, and  being “different” in an atmosphere that doesn’t embrace diversity.  (Ward, 2010)
When you have a differently abled friend, the special considerations  that enable or prevent social interaction are different for each person,  for the friends of a wheelchair bound friend, you have to remember that  not everywhere has ramps or the accessibility features necessary for  them to be able to socialize, in the classroom there are barriers with  the layout and the mindset that the desk beside the differently abled  student was to be left for the EA, even if the EA was not with the  student, this caused the other students to potentially exclude that  student because there is a perceived “bubble” around them that you would  not be able to occupy. Some classroom layouts were designed many years  ago and do not allow the student in a wheelchair to move freely about  the classroom. (Ward, 2010) In the film A boy and his dog, Orin is able  to overcome some of the isolation from kids and adults with his service  animal because it gave them something to break the ice and get to know  more about Orin and break down some of the social barriers. I feel like  this would be something that could help more differently abled students.  (McIver, 2014)

difference between virtual friending and real befriending essay help online free

I disagree scientist are correct in stating that most people see a  difference between virtual friending and real befriending. Virtual  friending was first termed by myspace, which means “to link to” while  befriending on the other hand involves getting to know someone. You  don’t necessarily have a deep connection with people online as you would  if you were face to face. The inability to read body language online is  a cause for misunderstandings. People often do not distinguish virtual  friending and befriending as separate entities. According to a study of  800 young people conducted by researchers at the University of  California many people used new media just to hang out. In my opinion  people don’t realize that there is a difference but see it as no  difference weather they have friends online or offline if they fill the  void of loneliness. This coincides with the passage “online friendships  are but reflections of the close intimacy of embodied exchange” (Vernon  pg113). It is very important to know that there is a distinction between  the two. Virtual friending can adversely effect your real befriending.  It impacts the way you communicate and act. You can easily become  unaware of how others feel based off wording through a chatroom that can  make others feel like you are not really there for them when the most  need you. This is why online friendships don’t stand up to real  befriending’s because there are so many gaps created on an emotional  level. This is turn could ruin friendships and leave you or them in a  place you were trying to avoid in the first place, loneliness.
