From Sex And Violence To Disney-19th Century Fairytales Adaption Children Across The African History Assignment Help

From Sex and Violence to Disney-19th Century Fairytales Adaption

Children across the world share the same fascination with fairytales. Parents read the stories about enhanced prince Charming, beautiful princesses saved by their true love, child-swallowing wolfs, and speaking animals. We love fairy tales so much that film production companies such as Walt Disney obtain their central revenue by producing animated fairytales. Most fairy tales we know have been orally spread for hundreds of years until they were written down during the 19th century. The best-known versions are the brother Grimm version, who wrote them down and published them in a book (Children’s and Household Tales). Readers of the original fairytales will notice the dark themes and symbolism of the stories. In newer versions, fairytales are about friendship, romance, and equality. Modern Fairytale versions are not merely entertainment; they are versions that are conforming to our current society, just as the Grimm version did.

Most fairy tales have many different versions, depending on in which country they were told. They have slightly different symbols, motifs, and plot. For instance Cinderella; in the version told in France and written down by Charles Perrault, Cinderella has a fairy godmother who enchants a pumpkin and mice into horses and carriage, and she forgives her evil stepsisters at the end. However, in the German version by the Grimm brothers, Cinderella does not have a fairy godmother, she attains her ballgown from a magic tree that is growing on her mothers grave, when her stepmother makes her sort lentils all night long, Cinderella gets help from pigeons, who at the end peck her stepsisters eyes out. Initially, Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm did not intend for their books to be for children. The first edition of Household Tales was printed in 1812. Six more editions were printed, with the 1857 edition being most known and most child-friendly one, whose name changed into Children’s and Household Fairytales (Flood). The Grimm brothers documented the fairy tales as they were told to them by German pheasants. Fairy tales were used to teach moral and behavior lessons, influenced by the economic and social status of the period. Later prints have Christian element merged into the tales. The Grimm brothers saw the need to edit the first edition, to make it more suitable for children because it had many gruesome details that are not appropriate for children. The unedited versions of those fairy tales frequently mentioned premarital sex. Some well-known examples are Rapunzel and The Frog King. Rapunzel becomes pregnant after she spends several nights with the prince. The princess from The Frog King also cannot resist the king after he transformed from a frog into a handsome human man. The Grimm brothers removed all mentioning of the act of physical love. Later, in the 20th century, these fairy tales were analyzed by psychologists Sigmund Freud and Erich Fromm, who are confident that these fairy tales still have hidden suggestions sex (Greenspan). The characters of the fairy tales were not always very friendly to each other. Fairytales involve much violence as well. In Cinderella, the stepsisters cut their toes off so they can fit into the slipper and get their eyes pecked out by pigeons. The tale of The Goose Maid, the false bride, gets punished while she is thrown into a barrel with spikes and dragged along the streets. Many people know the version of The King Frog in which the princess kisses the enchanted frog that turns into human form. In earlier versions, the princess gets upset with the frog, and she throws the amphibian on a wall and kills him (Greenspan). Even worse for the young readers is the child abuse mentioned in old fairytales. Snow White is left behind into the forest at the young age of seven and to fend for herself, not to mention that her mother was so jealous of her beauty that she ordered a huntsman to kill her and to bring her Snow White’s liver and lungs back, just so the evil queen can eat them for dinner. In the story of The Juniper Tree, the angry stepmother decapitates her stepson, while he was reaching for an apple in a chest, cooked him in a stew and fed him to her husband. Cannibalism also played a big part in old fairytales (Greenspan). Many fairy tales have an evil stepmother that mistreats her stepchildren. Formerly, the abusive stepmothers some were the biological mothers of the children; however, the Grimm brother has transformed them all into stepmothers because the idea of having such vicious mothers, was already too scary for children in the 19th century. A couple of not so well-known fairytales had some anti-Semitism and incest as part of their plots as well (Greenspan).

Fairytales in their original forms were told orally, only people that were educated and wealthy enough were able to buy books. During the 20th century, we began to view fairytales in cinemas and on TV. Now that we have reached the 21st century we have excess to fairytales on the tip of our fingers on our smartphones and computers. the internet and pop culture is influencing new versions of fairy tales, and also how the viewer interprets the plot. Fairytales are constantly present in the media. We see them in commercials, satire, and merchandise. Fairytales are still so popular that they are continually inventing themselves new. “Just as authoritative as tales told thru orally storytelling modes, fairytales adaption of the 21st century in ‘old’ and ‘new’ media reflect the sociocultural condition in which they were made” (Schwabe). Many people enjoy watching TV series such as Once Upon a Time and Grimm. These shows use motifs and characters from well-known fairy tales and adapt them to contemporary social issues. Brittany Warman, a scholar from Ohio State University, examined the series character Ruby from Once Upon a Time, who is portraying Red Riding Hood. In this series, Red Riding Hood and the wolf are the same person. Warman claims that “As a werewolf, Ruby must wear a red cloak in order to keep turning into a monster and that Ruby’s story certainly calls on the classic fairytales, it also makes deliberated use of the less familiar tale ‘Snow White and Rose Red.’ Taking queer readings of this text as a starting point, Warman demonstrates that this allusion opens up space for a compelling reading of Red’s werewolf nature as a coded deception of her late confirmed bisexuality” (Schwabe). Julianna Lindsay, a scholar from Arkansas State University, took a closer look at the TV series Grimm. “Lindsay argues that NBC’s television series Grimm uses fairytales and altered history to explore modern issues in American society, such as environmental concerns, individuality, and social and cultural change through magic and magic-tinged science. Worldwide chaos is explained as part of the Grimm universe thru Wesen (fantastical creatures), leading thru a more united view of humanity and equality of human experience. Lindsay suggests that Grimm gives its American audience a form of sociality unity thru folklore and a fictional explanation for the struggles Americans perceive to be happening within their own society and as well as in other parts of the world” (Schwabe). Evidently, in both TV series, are displaying themes that are very present topics in our society.

Once Upon a Time and Grimm are TV shows whose target audience are adults. Filming companies such as Disney are generally targeting children. In fact, the majority of Americans are only familiar with the ‘Disneyfied’ version of fairytales. Worldwide families enjoy watching Disney fairytales, and children love them. Without a doubt, 19th century fairytales are a literary treasure. Despite the gruesome details in some of the fairytales, they invoke our fantasy and let us travel to magic places in the past. It is amazing that fairy tales have survived all these years until they were written down during the 19th century. Disney is notorious for editing unpleasant details in old fairytales and give the illusion of shallow harmony. One of the sharpest critics of Disney is the scholar Jack Zipes. He wrote several books about the origin and context of old fairytales and translated some of the fairytales into English for the first time. He disapproves of Disney’s because Disney censors original fairytales so much that they have nothing in common with the original context and its commercialization of these old stories. It is undeniable, readers of the original fairytales get a sense of the dark and difficult times of when the old fairytales arose, while Disney movies deliver an overload of harmony, innocence, and happy endings. As mentioned earlier, fairytales adapt to the current social culture. Disney appears to do just that. For instance, the first Disney princess, Snow White, and the Seven Dwarfs was an instant success in 1937; it even won an Oscar. During the 1930s, Americans were struggling with the Great Depression. Citizens lost their employment and poor, and nobody knew how and when the economy would recover. Disney’s Snow White appeared to be what the American people needed at that time. A colorful movie, that is sweet and innocent, that takes the preoccupied mind of their somber reality. “Disney makes light of the despair of the Depression through Snow White’s patient, self-reliant, and sincere character, keeping the hope alive within Americans that if they remain positive and hardworking, good will triumph over evil and they will be released from the suffering of their everyday lives” (Mollet). Americans did only identify themselves with Snow White; they found themselves among the seven dwarfs as well. Disney named the seven dwarfs and gave them different personalities (Grumpy, Doc, Sleepy, Sneezy Dopey, Bashful, and Happy). An interesting claim is that the dwarf ‘Grumpy,’ who was not fond of Snow White in the beginning, is representing American men that did not approve of women’s new liberation and right to vote. Furthermore, the dwarfs lived a humbled life in the woods, during the 1930s, most American lived in rural areas. The Queen in the Disney movie is easy to dislike, because of the harm she caused Snow White, but the people in 1937 saw more in her than just the evil step-mother “Unlike Snow White, who exemplifies the 1930s values of decency and idealism, the Wicked Queen places importance on superficiality, greed, and individual ambition, the main components of 1920s ideology that many held responsible for the Wall Street crash. Indeed, the jealousy that drives the story in the Grimm version takes visual shape in the film, through both the commentary of the Magic Mirror and the mirror’s green tint when the Queen addresses her own beauty” (Mollet). Sure, Disney’s Snow White is significantly different from the Grimm version, but it did help the American people to overcome and eased their struggle. Disney adapted a fairytale to the current social situation, just as it has been done many years.

Since Disney’s Snow White came into the movie theaters, many more princesses have followed. Whether all of the Disney fairytales have social significance as Snow White is debatable. When Disney’s The Princess and the Frog came into the movie theaters, the movie caused many controversies. The princess dream is not to find her prince. It is to open her own restaurant. The featured feminism was not what was new, however, a princess of African descent was new. Disney had several princesses with different cultural background, yet it was not until 2009 Disney portrayed a black princess. Some people were not pleased with the absence of a black prince or felt that some motifs, such as the voodoo references in the movie were racially profiling Afro-American. Whether the motifs and plot are of good taste is up to debate and to judge individually. By portraying the princess as an Afro-American girl was long overdue by Disney. Dorothy Hurley, who wrote Seeing White: Children of Color and the Disney Fairy Tale Princes, in 2005, criticized the lack of ethnic princesses and explained why they are essential for young Afro-American girls. The black color is associated with evilness and negativity. Moreover, villains in Disney movies, or any other animated cartoon or picture book, tend to have a darker skin color. Hurley argues that these facts have a negative impact on the self-image of ethnic children. She wrote “The fairy tale is one of the longest existing genres of children’s literature. Through the ages, children have formed mental images of the princesses and other characters depicted in these tales from their representation in the written text as well as in the illustrations that have often accompanied those texts” (Hurley). Our society is still battling racial bias and equality, a social-cultural issue that is very present and often discussed in the media. It is evident that Disney has an immense influence on the American society, especially when it comes to the visual images of princesses our children have. While The Princess and the Frog are very far-off Grimm’s Frog King, Disney still send out the right message in this case. A black princess is a step towards racial equality, and influence on the positive self-image of Afro-American children.

Disney is positively the most significant influence on Americans knowledge of fairytales and editing old fairytales. Although a large number of children learn about fairytales thru cinema and movie, there is also a great selection of children’s books, which are not Disney, that adapt old fairytales and modernize them. One example is Diane Wolkstein’s The Glass Mountain. Grimm’s Old Rinkrank inspired the author. Wolkstein always like this fairytale because of the feisty princess attitude. The changes she made with her version of the Grimm fairytale begun with giving the princess a name (Riana) and telling the reader about her preferences, such as her favorite color and how she likes to spend the day. Princess Riana is actively trying to escape the Old Rinkrank to be with her love, while in Grimm’s version she managed her escape while waiting to be rescued. Grimm’s princess gave all the gold and silver she dug from the mountain to the king, Wolkstein’s princess keeps her treasure to herself and shares it with every living creature. The modern princess is still marrying the prince, but she does not belong to him like the classical princess did to her prince, Riana and her prince are completing each other and are equal (Wolkstein).

Fairytales have always been well-loved since they begun evolving, probably thousands of years ago. Adults and children have always been fascinated by fairy tales, despise of the gruesome details, which is why they are still an essential part of today’s literature. Fairytales went thru many changes since they were first told, and some of the beloved fairytales have different versions, depending on the country in which they are told. More recent adaption are often criticized for stirring away too much of what fairy tales were originally supposed to teach us. However, this had begun as early as the 19th century when the Grimm brothers made the tales more child-friendly. Whether we are changing fairytales too much or not, it is up to personal taste. While during the 19th-century people struggled with hunger, deadly disease, and the ideal woman was virtues, virgin, and obedience, our struggles, and image of women have significantly changed. Our youth is preoccupied with racial equality, feminism, and sexual identity for example. Also, today’s children cope differently with struggles than children from the 19th century. Therefore, it is natural for fairytales to adapt to our current social culture. I believe that old fairytales should be part of everyone’s general education since they are valuable literature. I also think that it is ok for younger children to enjoy Disney fairytales since can some positive impact and are often referred as ‘feel-good’ movie.

Nursing Research based on Reflection college essay help free

Reflection Assignment
This week there will be no formal discussion for our class. However, there is a reading assignment. Based on the reading assignment there is a reflection requirement. This is basically a written paragraph of about five to six sentences about what you have read. Your reflection should be posted on the discussion board (remember it is just a paragraph of five to six sentences) regarding your readings for this week. No discussions are required this week.
Reading Assignment
Our reading assignment for our class this week will involve:
Chapter 16 – Internet, Secondary Analysis and Historical Research
Chapter 17 – Intervention
Your class participation is the basis for grading of this requirement. Please note that I am actively going through everyone’s phrase three written assignments. Thank you for your continued diligence in our course.
Under chapter 16 this week, we will explore topics such as incorporating the internet for your research, revisiting participant testing as well as interviewing. Ethical concerns, historical research, and its appraisal.
In review of chapter 17, intervention in research will be explained. As per our text, not all research involves an intervention. Frequently, interventions are seen within improvement projects frequently completed in DNP programs. At this phase of research, the principle investigator interacts with their research team. Documentation stems from the methodology section.
Investigating the internet in research, please know and understand the following.
Internet-based research method refers to any research method that uses the Internet to collect data. Most commonly, the Web has been used as the means for conducting the study, but e-mail has been used as well. The use of e-mail to collect data dates back to the 1980s while the first uses of the Web to collect data started in the mid-1990s. Whereas e-mail is principally limited to survey and questionnaire methodology, the Web, with its ability to use media, has the ability to execute full experiments and implement a wide variety of research methods. The use of the Internet offers new opportunities for access to participants allowing for larger and more diverse samples.

Historical inquiry proceeds with the formulation of a problem or set of questions worth pursuing. In the most direct approach, students might be encouraged to analyze a document, record, or site itself. Who produced it, when, how, and why? What is the evidence of its authenticity, authority, and credibility? What does it tell them of the point of view, background, and interests of its author or creator? What else must they discover in order to construct a useful story, explanation, or narrative of the event of which this document or artifact is a part? What interpretation can they derive from their data, and what argument can they support in the historical narrative they create from the data?

An intervention is a combination of program elements or strategies designed to produce behavior changes or improve health status among individuals or an entire population. Interventions may include educational programs, new or stronger policies, improvements in the environment, or a health promotion campaign. Interventions that include multiple strategies are typically the most effective in producing desired and lasting change.

Impact Of Ethnicity On Antidepressant Case writing an essay help: writing an essay help

Case 2: Volume 1, Case #7: The case of physician do not heal thyself
Major depressive disorder is one of the most prevalent disorders you will see in clinical practice. Treatment for this disorder, however, can vary greatly depending on client factors, such as ethnicity and culture. As a psychiatric mental health professional, you must understand the influence of these factors to select appropriate psychopharmacologic interventions. For this Discussion, consider how you might assess and treat the individuals in the case studies based on the provided client factors, including ethnicity and culture.
To Prepare:
· Review this week’s Learning Resources and reflect on the insights they provide.
· Go to the Stahl Online website and examine the case study you were assigned ( Above)
· Take the pretest for the case study.
· Review the patient intake documentation, psychiatric history, patient file, medication history, etc. As you progress through each section, formulate a list of questions that you might ask the patient if he or she were in your office.
· Based on the patient’s case history, consider other people in his or her life that you would need to speak to or get feedback from (i.e., family members, teachers, nursing home aides, etc.).
· Consider whether any additional physical exams or diagnostic testing may be necessary for the patient.
· Develop a differential diagnoses for the patient. Refer to the DSM-5 in this week’s Learning Resources for guidance.
· Review the patient’s past and current medications. Refer to Stahl’s Prescriber’s Guide and consider medications you might select for this patient.
· Review the posttest for the case study.
Write a response to the following:
· Provide the case number in the subject line of the Discussion thread ( Case # 7)
· List three questions you might ask the patient if he or she were in your office. Provide a rationale for why you might ask these questions.
· Identify people in the patient’s life you would need to speak to or get feedback from to further assess the patient’s situation. Include specific questions you might ask these people and why.
· Explain what physical exams and diagnostic tests would be appropriate for the patient and how the results would be used.
· List three differential diagnoses for the patient. Identify the one that you think is most likely and explain why.
· List two pharmacologic agents and their dosing that would be appropriate for the patient’s antidepressant therapy based on pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. From a mechanism of action perspective, provide a rationale for why you might choose one agent over the other.
· For the drug therapy you select, identify any contraindications to use or alterations in dosing that may need to be considered based on the client’s ethnicity. Discuss why the contraindication/alteration you identify exists. That is, what would be problematic with the use of this drug in individuals of other ethnicities?
· If your assigned case includes “check points” (i.e., follow-up data at week 4, 8, 12, etc.), indicate any therapeutic changes that you might make based on the data provided.
· Explain “lessons learned” from this case study, including how you might apply this case to your own practice when providing care to patients with similar clinical presentations

Practices to Support Healthcare Issues college application essay help online

Discussion: Organizational Policies and Practices to Support Healthcare Issues
Quite often, nurse leaders are faced with ethical dilemmas, such as those associated with choices between competing needs and limited resources. Resources are finite, and competition for those resources occurs daily in all organizations.
For example, the use of 12-hour shifts has been a strategy to retain nurses. However, evidence suggests that as nurses work more hours in a shift, they commit more errors. How do effective leaders find a balance between the needs of the organization and the needs of ensuring quality, effective, and safe patient care?
In this Discussion, you will reflect on a national healthcare issue and examine how competing needs may impact the development of polices to address that issue.

Review the Resources and think about the national healthcare issue/stressor you previously selected for study in Module 1.
Reflect on the competing needs in healthcare delivery as they pertain to the national healthcare issue/stressor you previously examined.

Post an explanation of how competing needs, such as the needs of the workforce, resources, and patients, may impact the development of policy. Then, describe any specific competing needs that may impact the national healthcare issue/stressor you selected. What are the impacts, and how might policy address these competing needs? Be specific and provide examples.

stereotypes and implicit bias in the community writing essay help250 WORDS CITATION AND REFERENCES
How does the community health nurse recognize bias, stereotypes, and implicit bias within the community? How should the nurse address these concepts to ensure health promotion activities are culturally competent? Propose strategies that you can employ to reduce cultural dissonance and bias to deliver culturally competent care. Include an evidence-based article that address the cultural issue. Cite and reference the article in APA format.
Instructor post
Providing holistic nursing care requires cultural competence. Understanding others beliefs and how you personally feel about those beliefs will help guide your patient care. Every person has their own values, including the nurse providing the care and education. Understanding your values and their importance to you will help the nurse understand how important and the impact an individuals values has on their health care preferences. Community health nurses must be able to interact effectively with people of all cultures , beliefs systems and health preferences (GCU, 2018).
What are some cultural beliefs you are familiar with or have had professional experiences with? How did you handle those situations? How were you able to ensure you were providing culturally competent care?
Please use at least one evidence based article to support your discussion post. The GCU library can be very helpful for finding resources.

Nurse Informatics and Other Specialists college essay help nyc: college essay help nyc

Discussion: Interaction Between Nurse Informaticists and Other Specialists
Nature offers many examples of specialization and collaboration. Ant colonies and bee hives are but two examples of nature’s sophisticated organizations. Each thrives because their members specialize by tasks, divide labor, and collaborate to ensure food, safety, and general well-being of the colony or hive.
Of course, humans don’t fare too badly in this regard either. And healthcare is a great example. As specialists in the collection, access, and application of data, nurse informaticists collaborate with specialists on a regular basis to ensure that appropriate data is available to make decisions and take actions to ensure the general well-being of patients.
In this Discussion, you will reflect on your own observations of and/or experiences with informaticist collaboration. You will also propose strategies for how these collaborative experiences might be improved.
To Prepare:

Review the Resources and reflect on the evolution of nursing informatics from a science to a nursing specialty.
Consider your experiences with nurse Informaticists or technology specialists within your healthcare organization.

By Day 3 of Week 3
Post a description of experiences or observations about how nurse informaticists and/or data or technology specialists interact with other professionals within your healthcare organization. Suggest at least one strategy on how these interactions might be improved. Be specific and provide examples. Then, explain the impact you believe the continued evolution of nursing informatics as a specialty and/or the continued emergence of new technologies might have on professional interactions.

Scarcity of Medical Resources assessment buy essay helpScarcity of Medical Resources
For this assessment, you will continue your survey of ethical principles in health care. Especially in our contemporary world, where needs for health care outstrip available resources, we regularly face decisions about who should get which resources.
There is a serious shortage of donor organs. Need vastly outstrips supply, due not only to medical advances related to organ transplantation, but also because not enough people consent to be cadaveric donors (an organ donor who has already died). Munson (2014) points out that in the United States, approximately 10,000 patients die each year because an organ donor was not available, which is three times the number of people killed in the terrorist attacks on 9/11.
But what is an efficient and morally sound solution to this problem? The policy of presumed consent, where enacted, has scarcely increased supply, and other alternatives, such as allowing donors to sell their organs, raise strong moral objections. In light of this, some have advocated for a policy of conscription of cadaveric organs (Spital & Erin, 2002). This involves removing organs from the recently deceased without first obtaining consent of the donor or his or her family. Proponents of this policy argue that conscription would not only vastly increase the number of available organs, and hence save many lives, but that it is also more efficient and less costly than policies requiring prior consent. Finally, because with a conscription policy allpeople would share the burden of providing organs after death and allwould stand to benefit should the need arise, the policy is fair and just.
Demonstration of Proficiency
By successfully completing this assessment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the following course competencies and scoring guide criteria:

Competency 1: Articulate ethical issues in health care.

Articulate the moral concerns surrounding a policy of organ conscription.
Articulate questions about the fairness and justness of organ conscription policy.
Explain the relevance and significance of the concept of consent as it pertains to organ donation.
Evaluate alternative policies for increasing available donor organs.

Competency 5: Communicate in a manner that is scholarly, professional, and respectful of the diversity, dignity, and integrity of others and is consistent with health care professionals.

Exhibit proficiency in clear and effective academic writing skills.

Instructions
Do you consider the policy of organ conscription to be morally sound?
Write a paper that answers this question, defending that answer with cogent moral reasoning and supporting your view with ethical theories or moral principles you take to be most relevant to the issue. In addition to reviewing the suggested resources, you are encouraged to locate additional resources in the Capella library, your public library, or authoritative online sites to provide additional support for your viewpoint. Be sure to weave and cite the resources throughout your work.
In your paper, address the following:

On what grounds could one argue that consent is not ethically required for conscription of cadaveric organs? And on what grounds could one argue that consent is required?
Is the policy truly just and fair, as supporters claim? Explain.
Do you consider one of the alternative policies for increasing available donor organs that Munson discusses to be preferable to conscription? Explain why or why not.

Credibility Of Quantitative Results assessment essay help writing: essay help writingData Analysis

As a nurse engaged in evidence-based practice, it is important to recognize how statistics and other data analysis tools are used to generate and assess evidence. Most nurses need only a foundational understanding of statistical tools and terminology to understand the majority of research studies. As a nurse, you should be able to recognize the most commonly used statistical tests, how and when they are used, and how significance is determined.

In this Discussion, you examine different types of statistics and statistical tests, when and why these particular tests would be selected for use, and, most importantly, what the results indicate. To this end, you will be assigned to a group by Day 1 of this week. Each group will be assigned one of the five chapters listed in this week’s Learning Resources and will develop a study sheet on their chapter that will be shared with the other groups.

To prepare:

Review the information in your assigned chapter (Chapter 19 p. 473 to 477. Credibility of Quantitative Results  See attached file)

The key concepts of the chapter: Focus on the basic concepts that are important for nurses to understand as they review research studies. ( In this case, focus only on Credibility of Quantitative Results)
A description of the statistical methods covered in the chapter, what they measure, and under what circumstances they are used. Identify examples of how the statistical methods have been used in research studies. ( In this case, focus only on Credibility of Quantitative Results
An explanation of the key statistical tests and how they measure significance (if applicable). ( In this case, focus only on Credibility of Quantitative Results )

Creating a Culture of Evidence-Based Practice popular mba argumentative essay help: popular mba argumentative essay helpCreating a Culture of Evidence-Based Practice

An abundance of evidence can be found on almost any medical issue or health topic. Often, the availability of information is not the concern, but rather nurses struggle with how to convey the evidence to others and change practices to better reflect the evidence. Deep-rooted organizational cultures and policies can make some resistant to change, even to changes that can vastly improve the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of health care. However, there are many strategies that nurses can employ to bring about changes to practice.

In this Discussion, you focus on how to create an organizational culture that supports evidence-based practice.

To prepare:

Review the information in this week’s Learning Resources. Examine the various suggestions for promoting an organizational culture that embraces the use of EBP.
Reflect on your own hospital’s (or one in which you have worked) support of evidence-based practice. Examine how culture and policies impact the adoption of changes to practice based on evidence. What barriers exist?
Consider the models and suggestions for promoting evidence-based practice featured in this week’s Learning Resources. Identify models and suggestions that would work well in your hospital.
Reflect on the significance of evidence-based practice (EBP) in health care. What responsibility do nurses have to promote EBP and change practices to better reflect evidence and research findings?
Reflect on how nurses can disseminate findings from evidence-based practice research.

Post on Tuesday 05/10/16 550 words in APA format

The ability to understand and create project plans in Microsoft Project enables a project manager to effectively plan and manage project implementations.

In this Assignment, you generate a project plan using Microsoft Project.

To prepare:

Review the information in this week’s Learning Resources on using Microsoft Project.
Consider how to efficiently schedule tasks in a project plan.
Think about how you should sequence tasks that have dependencies.

To complete this Assignment, you will create a Microsoft Project plan for a patient information management system. The primary deliverable for the plan is the patient information management system itself, but it is comprised of many modules. Include the following tasks, subtasks, and timeframes:

1) Create the Admission, Discharge, and Transfer Module (requires subtask I, configuration period: 25 days, training period: 10 days)
2) Subtask I: Create the Patient Registration Module (requires subtask II, configuration period: 4 days, training period: 4 days)
3) Subtask II: Create the Master Patient Index (configuration period: 4 days)
4) Subtask III: Create the Patient Scheduling Module (requires subtask II, configuration period: 7 days, training period: 15 days)
