A chest x-ray revealed a small lung nodule of unknown significance. He was felt to have a viral syndrome and was given an appointment to follow-up in the pulmonary clinic in 10 days for further evaluation of the nodule. After missing his initial and two rescheduled appointments, one of the nurses called him home to encourage him to keep his appointment scheduled for next week. As she speaks with him she is not confident that her message is understood. The Case on Eboni:

Eboni Logan is a 16-year-old biracial African American/Caucasian female in 11th grade. She is an honors student, has been taking Advanced Placement courses, and runs track. Eboni plans to go to college and major in nursing. She is also active in choir and is a member of the National Honor Society and the student council. For the last 6 months, Eboni has been working 10 hours a week at a fast food restaurant. She recently passed her driver’s test and has received her license.
Eboni states that she believes in God, but she and her mother do not belong to any organized religion. Her father attends a Catholic church regularly and takes Eboni with him on the weekends that she visits him.
Eboni does not smoke and denies any regular alcohol or drug usage. She does admit to occasionally drinking when she is at parties with her friends, but denies ever being drunk. There is no criminal history. She has had no major health problems.
Eboni has been dating Darian for the past 4 months. He is a 17-year-old African American male. According to Eboni, Darian is also on the track team and does well in school. He is a B student and would like to go to college, possibly for something computer related. Darian works at a grocery store 10–15 hours a week. He is healthy and has no criminal issues. Darian also denies smoking or regular alcohol or drug usage. He has been drunk a few times, but Eboni reports that he does not think it is a problem. Eboni and Darian became sexually active soon after they started dating, and they were using withdrawal for birth control.
Eboni’s mother, Darlene, is 34 years old and also biracial African American/Caucasian. She works as an administrative assistant for a local manufacturing company. Eboni has lived with her mother and her maternal grandmother, May, from the time she was born. May is a 55-year-old African American woman who works as a paraprofessional in an elementary school. They still live in the same apartment where May raised Darlene.
Darlene met Eboni’s father, Anthony, when she was 17, the summer before their senior year in high school. Anthony is 34 years old and Caucasian. They casually dated for about a month, and after they broke up, Darlene discovered she was pregnant and opted to keep the baby. Although they never married each other, Anthony has been married twice and divorced once. He has four other children in addition to Eboni. She visits her father and stepmother every other weekend. Anthony works as a mechanic and pays child support to Darlene.
Recently, Eboni took a pregnancy test and learned that she is 2 months pregnant. She actually did not know she was pregnant because her periods were not always consistent and she thought she had just skipped a couple of months. Eboni immediately told her best friend, Brandy, and then Darian about her pregnancy. He was shocked at first and suggested that it might be best to terminate. Darian has not told her explicitly to get an abortion, but he feels he cannot provide for her and the baby as he would like and thinks they should wait to have children. He eventually told her he would support her in any way he could, whatever she decides. Brandy encouraged Eboni to meet with the school social worker.
During our first meeting, Eboni told me that she had taken a pregnancy test the previous week and it was positive. At that moment, the only people who knew she was pregnant were her best friend and boyfriend. She had not told her parents and was not sure how to tell them. She was very scared about what they would say to her. We talked about how she could tell them and discussed various responses she might receive. Eboni agreed she would tell her parents over the weekend and see me the following Monday. During our meeting I asked her if she used contraception, and she told me that she used the withdrawal method.
Eboni met with me that following Monday, as planned, and she was very tearful. She had told her parents and grandmother over the weekend. Eboni shared that her mother and grandmother had become visibly upset when they learned of the pregnancy, and Darlene had yelled and called her a slut. Darlene told Eboni she wanted her to have a different life than she had had and told her she should have an abortion. May cried and held Eboni in her arms for a long time. When Eboni told her father, he was shocked and just kept shaking his head back and forth, not saying a word. Then he told her that she had to have this child because abortion was a sin. He offered to help her and suggested that she move in with him and her stepmother.
Darlene did not speak to Eboni for the rest of the weekend. Her grandmother said she was scheduling an appointment with the doctor to make sure she really was pregnant. Eboni was apprehensive about going to the doctor, so we discussed what the first appointment usually entails. I approached the topic of choices and decisions if it was confirmed that she was pregnant, and she said she had no idea what she would do.
Two days later, Eboni came to see me with the results of her doctor’s appointment. The doctor confirmed the pregnancy, said her hormone levels were good, and placed her on prenatal vitamins. Eboni had had little morning sickness and no overt issues due to the pregnancy. Her grandmother went with her to the appointment, but her mother was still not speaking to her. Eboni was very upset about the situation with her mother. At one point she commented that parents are supposed to support their kids when they are in trouble and that she would never treat her daughter the way her mother was treating her. I offered to meet with Eboni and her mother to discuss the situation. Although apprehensive, Eboni gave me permission to call her mother and set up an appointment.
The Logan Family
May Logan: mother of Darlene, 55
Darlene Logan: mother, 34
Anthony Jennings: father, 34
Eboni Logan: daughter, 16
Darian: Eboni’s boyfriend, 17
I left a message for Darlene to contact me about scheduling a meeting. She called back and agreed to meet with Eboni and me. When I informed Eboni of the scheduled meeting, she thanked me. She told me that she was going to spend the upcoming weekend with her father, and that she was apprehensive about how it would go. When I approached the topic of a decision about the pregnancy, she stated that she was not certain but was leaning in one direction, which she did not share with me. I suggested we get together before the meeting with her mother to discuss the weekend with her father.
At our next session, Eboni said she thought she knew what to do but after spending the weekend with her father was still confused. Eboni said her father went on at length about how God gives life, and that if she had an abortion, she would go to hell. Eboni was very scared. Anthony had taken her to church and told the priest that Eboni was pregnant and asked him to pray for her. Eboni said this made her feel uncomfortable.
When I met with Eboni and her mother, Darlene shared her thoughts about Eboni’s pregnancy and her belief that she should have an abortion. She said she knows how hard it is to be a single mother and does not want this for Eboni. She believes that because Eboni is so young, she should do as she says. Eboni was very quiet during the session, and when asked what she thought, said she did not know. At the end of the session, nothing was resolved between Eboni and her mother.
When I met with Eboni the next day to process the session, she said that when they got home, she and her mother talked without any yelling. Her mother told Eboni she loved her and wanted what was best for her. May said she would support Eboni no matter what she decided and would help her if she kept the baby.
Eboni was concerned because she thought she was beginning to look pregnant and her morning sickness had gotten worse. I addressed her overall health, and she said that she wanted to sleep all the time, and that when she was not nauseated, all she did was eat. Eboni is taking her prenatal vitamins in case she decides to have the baby. Only a couple of her friends know about the pregnancy, and they had different thoughts on what they thought she should do. One friend even bought her a onesie. In addition, Eboni was concerned that her grades were being affected by the situation, possibly affecting her ability to attend college. She was also worried about how a pregnancy or baby would affect her chances of getting a track scholarship. In response to her many concerns, I educated her on stress-reduction methods.
Eboni asked me what I thought she should do, and I told her it was her decision to make for herself and that she should not let others tell her what to do. However, I also stated that it was important for her to know all the options. We discussed at length what it would mean for her to keep the baby versus terminating the pregnancy. I mentioned adoption and the possibility of an open adoption, but Eboni said she was not sure she could have a baby and then give it away. We discussed the pros and cons of adoption, and she stated she was even more confused. I reminded her that she did not have much time to make her decision if she was going to terminate. She said she wanted a few days to really consider all her options.
Eboni scheduled a time to meet with me. When she entered my office, she told me she had had a long talk with her mother and grandmother the night before about what she was going to do. She had also called her father and Darian and told them what she had decided. Eboni told me she knows she has made the right decision.

Theories of Psychomotor Learning essay help service: essay help serviceTwo prominent theoretical perspectives provide explanations for using demonstrations on learning a skill; one of these is the cognitive mediation theory and the other is the dynamic view, provide their chief explanatory characteristic and tell us which one in your opinion is better than the other. Provide arguments in your defense.
STUDENT
Cognitive mediation theory shares that when a person observes a model they translate it into a symbolic code that forms the basis of a stored representation into memory (Magill & Anderson, 2017). This stored information serves as a guide for performing the skill and as a standard for the error detection and correction. Badura is the pioneer of this theory and states that in order to obtain skill acquisition the modeling of another is accurately found by rule learning than response mimicry (Bandura, 1986). This is important across many aspect of how one can learn motor skill acquisition from observations.
The next view is the dynamic view of modeling that has been an alternate of Bandura theory. The dynamic view a theoretical view explaining the benefit of observing a skilled model demonstrate a skill; it proposes that the visual system is capable of automatically processing the observed movement in a way that constrains the motor control system to act accordingly, so that the person does not need to engage in cognitive mediation.
The question being asked is in my opinion which view is correct on learning a new skill. Until we have research evidence that one view cannot explain, we must consider which view is a possible explanation of why modeling benefits skill acquisition. I vote on the cognitive mediation theory. Albert Bandura had the breakthrough; demonstrating how observational learning takes place when seeing positive and negative behaviors and discredited the method of imitation. In addition, based on neuro programming theory, the more you see and hear movement the deeper it has become part of your nervous system and there is a likelihood that it has become a conditioned reflex (Druckman & Swet, 1988).
One more point to add is the benefit of imagery as I personally am a strong believer in this. Imagery is thought to activate parts of the motor system as well as other cortical regions and strengthen neural pathways involved in movement resulting in improved performance (Wakefield, Smith, Moran & Holmes, 2013). Imagery has improved service return to a greater extent than those classified as poor imagers (Wright et al., 2015). Using both imagery and observation demonstrates a stronger idea for the individual to complete a task. When I watch American Ninja Warrior I see so many contestants fail with obstacles. However when they see their peers complete a difficult obstacle it is within the next contestant observation and imagery that helps them complete the near impossible obstacle. Holmes and Camels (2008) imply that imagery and observation should be seen as complementary.

Environment science in Developing Country free essay help online

Have you ever seen an ad, picture, or clip on the news of a developing country and wondered, “What’s it like to live like that?” Your answer might be based on actual experience if you lived in that country, or you might form your opinion by reading about conditions in different types of countries or watching a video, such as any of these:

Eradicating Diseases in Africa, One Toilet at a Time (Malawi)
Venezuelans Cope With Food Shortage
India’s ‘Water Wives’

The United Nations and World Bank compare such parameters as gross domestic product (GDP), education, literacy rate, health care, and life expectancy to distinguish between developed and developing countries. Using these measures and those for standards of living, level of industrialization, and quality and range of infrastructure, countries are placed in a sort of scale called the Demographic Transition Model (DTM).

(Roser and Ortiz-Supina, 2018)
Assignment Details
Choose ONE of the following four topics. For that topic, and using what you have learned about living conditions and the DTM, discuss your experience in a Phase 4 country (presumably the United States) and compare and contrast that with the same resource in a country in Phase 2 or 3 of the DTM.
Topic Choices

Describe your educational experience in a developed country, and compare it to the educational experience in a developing country.
Describe the last time you went to the hospital, and contrast how this experience might differ in a developing country.
Describe your last trip to the grocery store, and compare the availability of food with that in a developing country.
Explain your biggest use of water, and then describe how this differs from the availability and supply of water in a developing country.

Media Violence and Desensitization essay help: essay help

Assignment: Media Violence and Desensitization
Desensitization is a well-documented consequence of years-long exposure to media violence. From early exposure, children—especially boys—learn that aggression pays off (Bushman, Gollwitzer, & Cruz, 2015). Aggression—especially if it means you “win” the game, “defeat” the adversary, or “force” a resolution to a conflict—earns the aggressor attention, praise, respect, reverence, adoration, money, and power. These are the rewards that often accompany aggression portrayed by the film industry (e.g., Die Hard, Die Hard 2, Die Hard With a Vengeance, Live Free or Die Hard, A Good Day to Die Hard), making it more likely that the aggressive behavior will persist. The number of films in this series is evidence of their popularity. From classical conditioning theory, we learn that bad behavior paired with rewards can make the bad behavior desirable; moreover, the prevalence of violence in the media, over time, normalizes it. Studies show that when exposed to violent films daily over a week’s time, participants rate films as less violent with each film viewed (Dexter, Penrod, Linz, & Saunders, 2006). This is evidence of desensitization.
Desensitized people tend not to acknowledge the effects of media violence, because they don’t see that there’s a problem. However, a growing body of research finds that desensitized individuals downplay or tend not to acknowledge egregious harm done to others; because a steady diet of violent media normalizes violent behavior, injury suffered by people in real life does not seem like cause for concern (Vossen, Piotrowski, & Valkenburg, 2016). That’s the nature of desensitization, and that is indeed a problem.
Convinced there is no harm in violent media consumption—that their behavioral tendencies will not have been influenced by it—desensitized consumers probably would not be interested in changing their media viewing habits (Funk, Baldacci, Pasold, & Baumgardner, 2004).
For this Assignment, you will examine the concept of desensitization, methods used to increase the desirability of violence, and ways for parents to reduce aggression exhibited by their children.

Submit 3–5 pages, not including title page and reference page:

Define desensitization and describes its process.
Identify and describe symptoms of desensitization.
Explain the methods used in the media to increase the desirability of violence. (i.e., what is rewarding the violence).
Suggest ways for parents to reduce aggression exhibited by their children.

In addition to the Learning Resources, search the Walden Library and/or Internet for peer-reviewed articles to support your Assignment. Use proper APA format and citations, including those in the Learning Resources.

Comic Strip or Political Cartoon Analysis my assignment essay help londonAssignment Instructions: Comic Strip or Political Cartoon Analysis
Writing Assignment: Comic Strip or Political Cartoon Analysis
You are required to submit the FINAL copy of this assignment, but you may first submit an optional DRAFT. This will allow you to receive qualitative feedback that can inform your revision. You should always avoid focusing solely on the grader’s DRAFT feedback; use the feedback as a supplement to the course lessons and your own revision ideas. Always expect the revise beyond what the DRAFT grader specifically notes.
You have two options for this assignment:
Option #1: Analysis of an Individual Comic Strip or Political Cartoon
Choose one comic strip or political cartoon. If you visit the website of a newspaper such as The Baltimore Sun, The New York Times, The Washington Post, etc., you should be able to search for comic strips or political cartoons easily.
Which techniques does the creator of the comic strip use? How does the creator make his/her point in the comic strip? What do we learn about the characters and/or ourselves from this comic strip or political cartoon? If colors are available, what do they tell us about this comic or cartoon? What language is used and how can that be interpreted?
And importantly, which of the key terms from the topic lesson can you discuss in your analysis? For example, how of elements of imagery, symbolism, metaphor, and/or irony help reveal the cartoon’s message?
As with all academic essays you write in this course, this essay should have a well-defined introduction with a thesis statement, body, and conclusion.
In essence, what are some of the physical elements present in the cartoon1 – characters, text, colors, etc., along with figurative elements such as metaphor and symbolism, that help to explain the cartoon’s message? It can be helpful to focus on a single element in the cartoon in its own body paragraph (including the element in the topic sentence and in the thesis) and describe how it portrays the cartoon’s message before moving to the next cartoon feature in a new paragraph.
Sample Thesis Statement: “John Smith uses (add one element from the cartoon), (add a second element from the cartoon), and (add a third element from the cartoon) to show (add the cartoon’s message).”
1A successful analysis will go beyond the obvious, literal elements of the cartoon and will analyze figurative elements, too. Use the course topic lessons to inform your analysis.
Option #2: Analysis of Multiple Comic Strips or Political Cartoons
Choose two political cartoons or comic strips created by the same person. Which techniques does the creator of the political cartoons use? How does the author make his/her point in the political cartoons? What do we learn about the characters and/or ourselves from these political cartoons? How does the language transmit the creator’s message? Using a comparison or contrast mode of development, draw conclusions about the techniques the author uses in the political cartoons and how they apply to our lives. As with all academic essays you write in this course, this essay should have a well-defined introduction with a thesis statement, body, and conclusion.
Use the point-by-point or subject-by-subject structure to compare and contrast about three to five elements found in the cartoons that help to explain how they apply to our lives or to a message present in today’s society. After you compare and contrast each paragraph, be sure to explain the message those elements and the cartoons help to depict.
Sample Thesis Statement: “John Smith’s cartoon strips Cartoon 1 and Cartoon 2 use (add one element from the cartoon), (add a second element from the cartoon), and (add a third element from the cartoon) to explain (add the cartoon’s message).”
Be sure to document the cartoon or comic strip on a Works Cited page. Please visit the following source for citing an electronic image: https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/747/08/

A Normal Nightmare
Nightmares may be a fairly common occurrence, but never a desired one. Many times they wake a man up with a shock in the night—hot, sweaty, and weary with stress. Then, that moment of truth comes, and he discerns between the illusion of his dream and the reality of his bed, his familiar mattress, and his room. However, sometimes even reality can abandon people into the clutches of a living nightmare. In his thoughtful cartoon “The American Nightmare,” Kevin “KAL” Kallaugher of The Baltimore Sun uses symbolism, imagery, and irony to powerfully depict America’s apathy regarding gun violence.
Symbolism in “The American Nightmare” reveals deeper insights into Kallaugher’s view of America and its lack of action against gun violence. In the cartoon, Uncle Sam and Lady Liberty are sleeping in bed together. Uncle Sam dreams that Donald Trump has been elected President and wakes Lady Liberty. They check the news and are relieved to find that instead of Trump’s election, there has only been another shooting. Kallaugher skillfully scatters meaningful symbols throughout the frames. Uncle Sam and Lady Liberty’s coverlet is an American flag. This symbolizes America as a whole, sleeping obliviously in comfort and indifference. The shock of Uncle Sam’s nightmare temporarily brings them out from under the cover to awareness of the current news. But they are uninterested in the reality of an older, more familiar nightmare, and afterward retreat back under the cloak of indifference. Kallaugher’s color choice of black and white gives each frame a stark and cold feel representative of the night hours and eerie dreams. On another level, the artist is portraying a night over America—she is asleep and unable to discern the true problem of internal violence. While these symbols may only be recognized subconsciously by the viewer, they lend invaluable depth to the picture of apathy towards the real nightmare.
In addition, Kallaugher uses imagery scattered throughout the cartoon’s frames to offer the viewer sensations of sight, sound, and touch. This gives the viewer a heightened understanding of Uncle Sam and Lady Liberty’s emotional response to their interrupted night. Exaggerated facial expressions reflect the feelings of horror, curiosity, sadness, and repose experienced by the characters. The sounds uttered, “AHHHH” and “PHEW!” help the viewer personally sympathize with the emotions of shock and relief. Kallaugher chooses to include the “CLICK!” word balloon in the fourth and fifth frames to add an audial dimension to his cartoon. Upon closer reflection, each “CLICK!” might represent the turning on and off of Uncle Sam and Lady Liberty’s attention. Their focus and concern turns on in the fourth frame, but quickly turns off again in the last frame upon the realization that their specific concern is not a reality. Uncle Sam sweats profusely in frames one and three, imparting an increased sense of the sweaty agitation often experienced during a nightmare. He grips his pillow in fright and then throws it in horror. The verbal exclamations, sweating, and physical movements are small expressions pointing a bigger picture. The sensational news attracted the attention and emotional trauma of Uncle Sam, standing in stark contrast to the apathetic depression he experiences when hearing of another shooting. Sometimes one problem in life may elicit our emotional reactions more readily. This does not mean that it is the most important problem, and one must be on his guard that he is not distracted from the true need.
Overarching his use of symbolism and imagery, Kallaugher utilizes subtle irony: Uncle Sam and Lady Liberty’s reaction to an unrealized problem versus a real problem. They are jolted from their slumber by the possibility of a sensational news story. Yet, once they realize it is only imagined, they immediately lose interest even when a real tragedy is announced. While this irony lends a comical aspect to the cartoon, the truth of its nature hits home. It is easy for Americans to ignore old, seemingly unsolvable problems in favor of entertaining and fantastical news. All too often the problem in life is not what one imagines, but something quite the opposite.
The American Nightmare artfully employs symbolism, imagery, and irony to awaken its readers to the real nightmare of American gun violence and the unjustified disregard given to finding a solution. It is easy to be distracted from the true problems in life, looking instead at those which are more fascinating. However, the importance of identifying and addressing the current evils at hand cannot be overstated. Oftentimes hypothesizing about a future problem when there is a current one in need of remedy is unhelpful and adds unnecessary stress, not to mention a sleepless night. Addressing each new problem as it arises provides the firm foundation needed to progress forward into the morning light.

Errors In Arguments college essay help online freeConsider a scenario where someone is using errors in argument. For example, the argument may focus on errors that customers or colleagues make in your field of study. It could be how the public perceives your field, how a newcomer to your field may make errors, or addressing a controversial topic in your field. If you would like to write about your life at home instead of at work, this may be the sort of argument that teenagers give to their parents during a disagreement. It could be a disagreement you have had with friends or family members. You get to choose the situation.
The Assignment should be 1–2 pages and should be composed in first person as the person making the errors. You should be deliberately employing at least four logical fallacies in the argument. The person making the argument likely does not know they are making mistakes. You will be correcting these errors in Part II. However, in Part I, have fun showing how errors in argument make their way into daily life. Some may be exaggerated, but some may be subtle.
In the sections of the paper where you are using a logical fallacy, you should highlight the error in bold. This will demonstrate that the fallacies are deliberately used in your composition.
While the paper will have errors in argument, aim not to have errors in spelling or grammar. The work should still be composed to demonstrate college-level writing, clarity, and organization.
Part II:
The content for Part II should be at least 2 pages, and it will require a reference page, which is not included in the page requirement.
In Part II, you will analyze the purposely flawed argument that you created in Part I. You will take on the role of a leader in your profession or of someone offering guidance to help a friend or family member understand their errors.
In the scenario for Part II, you have been asked to address the errors with the person voicing the argument in Part I. You should not be harsh with the person who made the mistakes, but you will use leadership, knowledge, and compassion to help make corrections. Offer diplomatic guidance that encourages without chastising the subject. Use your critical thinking and analytical skills to evaluate the Part I arguments, explain how they should be corrected, and offer guidance for improved argumentation in the future.

Analyze the argument from Part I. Identify and label the logical fallacies used in the argument. Be specific, using and citing sources to support your definitions of each fallacy.
Using clear argumentation, explain the implications of those fallacies in the workplace or daily life and why the fallacies would be problematic. What could be a consequence of this reasoning? Why do you believe the person making the argument used these tactics?
Offer guidance: How could the person constructing this argument avoid making those mistakes in argumentation? What would have strengthened each of the claims?Get professional assignment help cheaply

Campaign Talks Discussion rice supplement essay help: rice supplement essay helpChapter 11 highlights the continual debate among political scientists as to whether negative campaign ads help or hurt a candidate’s prospects of winning. Regarding whether or not negative ads ‘work’, Hershey notes that these appeals are often useful because they are memorable and emotionally engaging. However, “after the individual has made his or her choice, attack ads are likely to depress turnout, especially among people who are not strong partisans” (pg. 220).
Where do you fall on this debate? Does negative campaigning garner your attention by providing useful information? Or does negative campaigning cause you to tune out? Explain and provide current examples of ads from Georgia’s 2018 gubernatorial race.
*Note: Reaction posts should be approximately 2 paragraphs in length. Responses to other students do not have a length requirement but serve as your participation grade (i.e., the more thorough the better).

When it comes to the debates, candidates and their party would tend to highlight their successes as well and promises. This is a good thing and very informative. It allows voters to see who they are, what they have done and what they would like to do. Often we see their agendas align closely with current issues to motivate or connect with concerned citizens. From there the opposing party/candidate attacks.
For me, I think that we as voters are entitled to know the good, the bad and the ugly. Nothing is ever an issue until you try to hid it. So when there are things that are thrown out from one party/candidate to another, i would be impressed if they would own it. I’m pretty turned off when i see the back and forth attacks. It comes off a bit desperate. However, it does not deter me from my vote.
Currently, Stacey Abrams is running for Governor of GA. Her campaign appeared to be pretty positive to me. I didn’t see much about any of the candidates that was too negative. Then the first negative blow that I heard was about Stacey Abrams not paying IRS debt. However, the same person who’s campaign brought it up, has also had tax issues. The biggest thing for me is, Stacey Abrams is not the only person who has IRS bills. I like how she addressed the issue that has been brought up. These actions has not secured my vote for or against Stacey Abrams.
#2
I take political ads with a grain of salt. Whether they’re positive or negative and whoever the candidate is. Not to say the ads aren’t true but you can spin anything in any direction you want to. A great example is the governors race here in Georgia. There is the notion that the Secretary of State’s office is holding 53,000 votes that will not be eligible to vote in the upcoming 2018 midterms. This is completely untrue, every vote that was turned in before the voter registration deadline will be able to vote in the election. There is also an ad out by the Abrams camp that Brian Kemp leaked Georgians information while in office. Again is 100% untrue and is trying to gather support by playing on the fears of people. Attempting to be as less biases as possible the Kemp campaign has tried to label Abrams as an “extremist” and a socialist. Most recently I’ve only seen the Abrams campaign running these negative ads.

I like to do my own research and not rely to heavily on what I’ve seen in political ads. For reasons like I stated above. At the same time like a large majority of voters negative ads tend to stick with me. Negative ads are usually the ads I look to see are true or just hot air.

International Perceptions Of Human Rights narrative essay help: narrative essay helpFollowing the atrocities of World War II, world leaders created a legally binding declaration that would act as the foundation of international human rights law. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, drafted by committee members from several continents, represents “the universal recognition that basic rights and fundamental freedoms are inherent to all human beings . . . [w]hatever our nationality, place of residence, gender, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, language, or any other status” (United Nations, n.d.-a, para. 2). The leaders recognized that these rights are “inalienable and equally applicable to everyone, and that every one of us is born free and equal in dignity and rights” (United Nations, n.d.-a, para. 2). Although the United Nations declared these rights to apply to everyone, individuals from various cultures differ in terms of ethical norms, codes of conduct, and values. How do these cultural differences in ethical norms and codes of conduct affect public administrators’ perceptions of human rights?

local and national elections Review devry tutorcom essay helpDuring local and national elections candidates run television and radio ads that seem increasingly more negative. We are assured that the negative ads work. What has happened to political discourse in the United States and why?
Provide an example of the kind of discourse you dislike/like (you may use your readings as an example)
What changed to make things worse (or better)?

Life Challenges for a Refugee Research assignment help sydney: assignment help sydney

Explain at least five differences between popular and scholarly sources used in research
Scholarly sources
1. Accurate and reliable
2. peer reviewed
3. references
4. footnotes
5. no advertising or very little
Popular Sources
1. Article will  Have  advertising
2. The article can be written by  anyone
3. Articles are reviewed by a editor not by an expert
4. Article will not have references
5. Article will not have foot notes
Locate and summarize one peer-reviewed, scholarly source from the Ashford University Library and one popular source that pertain to your Final Paper topic. In your summary of each article, comment on the following: biases, reliability, strengths, and limitations.
In the article Years of Refugee Life Challenges for a new beginning : Stay or return Home
The article talks about how two decades of refugees needs consensus and political will and requires involvement of international community, international organizations, non government organizations and refugee associations to help with this crisis. This article has a lot of DATA including history, percentages and graphs. This article strengths are that it is giving facts with percentages and history so this makes the author not Bias just stating facts. I think with all the DATA that is in this article makes the article reliable The author also has references to back up his writing to make the article stronger and reliable.
The popular article I  Found was ” Syrian  Refugee Crisis How to Help” is a article that gives the history of how the refugee crisis started and talk about how the people of Syria are suffering for example the children, women and  the elderly because there is lake of water sources, children not getting an education and medical expenses are high. At the end of the article they are asking you to donate money to the Syrian Refugees. This article show bias because it has one point of view and want the reader to feel sympathy and give money. The strengths of the article is that is does have some of the history of the Syrian crisis and does have facts, but it is not reliable and was not written by a credible source. This article is to focus the reader on the crisis issue and hope the reader has sympathy for the refuges.
From the sources you summarized, list and explain at least five visual cues from the peer-reviewed, scholarly source that were not evident in the popular source
The five visual clues I saw in the peer reviewed scholarly source was
1. No advertising ( Pictures )
2. References
3. The article had some citations
4. The article had Acknowledgments
5. The article has an author

Chapter 11 highlights the continual debate among political scientists as to whether negative campaign ads help or hurt a candidate’s prospects of winning.

I am not fond of ad hominem and character attacks during elections. Voting for a candidate should be done so with policy as the priority. Our politics have become so divided and the political discourse has become tasteless because we focus on destroying the opposite party, rather than highlighting why one specific candidate suggests more effective policies. Those who are not politically active share that empathy to vote because they find politics disheartening and malicious. Campaign ads should outline why each candidate is qualified for the job, and what policies they intend to implement as solutions for the problems identified. Our Georgia gubernatorial race has garnered significant attention as we approach election day. Candiate Brian Kemp has released several controversial ads, including some that describe Candidate Stacy Abram’s tax debt to the IRS. As important as it is to pay taxes (regardless if you knowingly failed to pay because of family medical expenses), Kemp should be instead focusing on why his policies are superior to Abrams. Voters want to know what you are going to do for them once in office, so spending your campaign resources on attacking the other candidate for aspects outside of their policy stances is counterproductive. Likewise for Abrams, who has pointed out that Kemp owes $500,000 in personally guaranteed money from a business investment. I understand that the goal here is to illustrate Kemp’s inability to make smart financial decisions, but the priority for Abrams should still be her policy solutions to problems like healthcare and immigration. I think voter turnout would increase over time if the direction of our political discourse was altered. Changing the subject of our debates to pry in further detail the policies each candidate stands, and avoiding unnecessary character smears will encourage the average folk to show up to the polls in greater numbers.
I typically do not put much emphasis in campaign ads, as most of them are just destructive rhetoric. I also do not think they are particularly informative. I’d rather do some quick research on the internet to find out where each candidate lies on the issues at hand. I understand that negative publicity is still publicity, but as I stated before, I am more concerned with who is actually going to be the most effective official if elected.

As we have read in our text for this week we have seen that political campaign ads are legally maintained at the lowest cost possible so that those running can afford to put their message out to the public. This is great for democracy and yet also harmful because the network has no say as to what will be in that ad. The message can be baseless and still allowed to be broadcasted. I personally find that most of these ads tend to be taken in my viewers on an emotional basis and not backed by complete truth. These ads tend to take the truth out of context and simply provide for a reaction that leaves that particular candidate looking unfit for the position they are competing for. If I were a person who was not majoring in Political Science I might be caught up in the half-truths or complete falsehoods of the ads themselves but I know better. I find that mudslinging is lazy and does nothing but mislead the voter into voting against that particular person.  In this light, one must ask themselves of the honesty of either party taking part in “mudslinging”. Our reading has stated that this kind of strategy does work and in fact, history has shown us this. Yet, once more I have to question the integrity of those running to resort to this in the attempt to gain power. If they are willing to go so low to gain power what will they do to maintain that power?
I do not watch television all that much and the negative ads tend to have me shaking my head because the keywords used more often than not are your typical partisan vocabulary which categorizes the candidates as ‘liberal’ or ‘conservative’ and its a fact that our political system is becoming more polarized politically. I find this to be a terrible injustice for those who take voting seriously because again…these tactics are lazy and do not give much truth in the way of the people running. Keywords trigger voters into thinking a certain way without ever looking into the candidates themselves. I wouldn’t say that I personally ‘tune out’ but it doesn’t help me make a choice and often as in this case leaves me wanting to stay home and not vote. I find that those who are not informed to a fair degree on either candidate should consider doing the same as voting simply based on partisan association is damaging to all levels of government. I found a New 11 source which highlights two specific attack ads which Abrams and Kemp take part in.
Kemp attacks Abrams as working with socialists, government-run health care, and a vote which took place 10  years ago which “allows sex offenders to work within 1,000 feet of schools”. The reality is that these individuals apparently were unable to find work because of these constraints.  This bill was passed by a huge majority. Only 29 Democrats voted against it. This is a huge misrepresentation of Abrams as she voted AGAINST the bill.
Abram’s attack on Kemp involves sexual predator activities which are a hot-button subject for any politician. The allegations include a massage parlor employee asking that the person accused to stop repeatedly and Kemp ignored these requests.  The Secretary of State handles these allegations and is under Kemp’s jurisdiction. This leaves him with the image of not caring about sexual assault, women, and unfit in the position he currently is responsible for.  The statistic states that 96% of these claims were ignored. Kemp’s camp states that these are not true but the fact remains that the Republican party was the first to bring these allegations up well before Abram’s camp ever touched the narrative.
I need to do more research on the matter but if there is a third party or an independant I want to look into that person. If they do not fit into ideas I can support then I’m staying home and doing school work. 🙂
