In module three, there are various skills I have acquired in building my marketing strategy. The first skill is how to develop a marketing plan for diverse new markets. Here, I have learnt that diversity marketing involves showing the value of the products to the target customers. When the company is aligned with the value of the consumers, they are likely to share a global buying power and prefer purchasing products from the particular company. Thus, to diversify my new product line in the market, I have to develop a marketing mix comprised of both the social and cultural differences within the targeted geographical location. Besides, to ensure that my diversity marketing strategy is supported by diversity and inclusion, I have to gather an implementation plan that aligns with the business priorities with their equity and inclusion goals. Lastly, my implementation plan should comprise three sections: the commitment statement, an action plan, and the procedures for holding the team members accountable to the company’s merits and goals.
The second skill I gained the knowledge of the stages of the new product development process. This knowledge is crucial since I have to understand how to bring my original ideas and products to the market. Since my product line involves introducing Afia juice products into the markets located in the Northern USA, I have to learn the steps for designing and commercializing the product to transform my idea into a workable quality product. The first process involves obtaining ideas about the product, followed by reducing the number of ideas to eliminate the poor ideas and concentrate on the few promising ones. After that, the ideas are tested to determine their degree of success. The successful and attractive ideas are then expressed from the consumer’s viewpoint. The products can be tested against the competitors to determine their position in the market. Lastly, I have been able to apply the knowledge of environmental variables to differentiate between the domestic and international markets. Since the international business environment is developing quickly due to technological advancements and the high rate of globalization, thus, the growth of global trade has enabled the companies to explore new markets. Environmental factors such as the country’s legal practices, technology, politics, and social structure can negatively or positively impact the business.
The economic environment has a direct effect on both domestic and global businesses. Thus, to decide whether to maintain the business locally or take it global, it is essential to conduct thorough research on the countries or regions of operations. Also, this would be accompanied by understanding the interest and inflation rates on the imports and exports involving the intended business. Politics is another variable that has to be differentiated between global and local businesses. In the United States, children have the right to receive unconditional love from their parents. They are also entitled to go to school and further their education. However, 50 years ago, children had to work as slaves. Their educational rights were not protected. Human rights are significantly better today than they were fifty years ago, as has already been said.
To summarize, life is better today than it was 50 years ago. People nowadays live in a technologically advanced world that makes their daily tasks easier. We now have contemporary cars that can carry us to different locations more quickly. We have communication systems that assist us in making connections with others. Human rights have been safeguarded today. There are no longer any women or children who are suppressed or oppressed in this way. To put it another way, life today is far better than it was 50 years ago.

We have learned the need for values and ethics in any organizational set up throughout the course. However, we did not learn the prerequisites and challenges of attaining such ethics. The video comes in handy to explain several issues not dealt with directly in the course. In the video, we learn aspects such as when the need for integrity surpasses the need to attain results and vice versa. The video talks about the difference between leadership and discipline. I learned that being a disciplinarian does not necessarily mean that one is a good leader. I also learned the importance of gauging between fairness and integrity when handling various issues that may arise in an organization setup.
One point I feel that should be included in the course is how we treat each other. In many cases, we only learn about structures in an organizational setup and how we are supposed to respect our superiors. However, I feel there is more to organization and company success than just appreciating the established structures. There should be mechanisms and systems in place that should make people in an organization become colleagues and one big family that makes everyone feel involved in running various affairs with the ultimate aim of attaining the overall goals. Once this is achieved, many other issues will be a thing of the past.
