CLOUD COMPUTING SERVICES

Azure is a cloud platform that is very critical in developing, hosting, and managing services and storage of data and information (Karthikeyan, 2018).  Amazon Web Services, on the other hand, is also a cloud platform that is essential in the development of businesses (Baker et al. 2019). These two platforms have several similarities and differences. The first similarity is that both platforms offer online storage spaces for both individuals and businesses. When it comes to networking, the two platforms allow the connection to one’s onset premise system. The two have even gone to the extent of providing a server load balance automation.

When it comes to the differences, AWS gives an allowance for a long-term archiving of data and information and retrieval (Baker et al. 2019). On the other hand, Azure does not provide long-term archiving of data and information nor recovery. The other difference is that in AWS, the EBS storage is essential for the storage of big data, on the other hand, in Azure, one would be required to upgrade into premium storage for he or she to handle the big data excellently. This is because the standard room in Azure is not ideal for the storage of big data (Karthikeyan, 2018).  AWS has many storage devices as compared to Azure. AWS is available in about 61 zones, while Azure is available in nearly 140 zones.

If I were to choose my business between the two platforms, I would go for the Azure platform. The first reason for this choice is because of the availability of the Azure in more zones as compared to AWS. This would be very favorable for the expansion of my business. Secondly, Azure allows for the storage of big data, which is essential for almost every industry even though it is in the premium package. Thirdly, Azure is user friendly, its performance is high, and the operational costs are lower as compared to AWS. This would be the key to any business that wants to make profits and reduced operational costs.

Cloud Migration

Requirements for Cloud Storage and Collaboration

Cloud migration entails the various strategies of moving digital data, applications, and other Information Technology (IT) processes of an organization to the cloud computing environment. The process can involve the transfer of business data and applications to a public cloud from a local data center. However, in some cases, the procedure consists of the transmission of data in the reverse direction, that is, from the public cloud back to the local center. Also, cloud migration could involve the movement of organizational data from one cloud provider to another. Like any other shift in corporate operations, a cloud migration process requires adequate planning and preparation before data transfer. The cloud service preferred by the firm determines the success of the process. Each cloud service demands specific requirements for the movement of data and applications. The analysis in this paper focusses on the various considerations and conditions related to cloud storage.

The advancement of technology has resulted in a corresponding expansion of business enterprises and subsequent growth in their data volumes. As a result, cloud storage has become an integral tool in the operations of entities. It provides a variety of solutions to companies’ storage problems, depending on their budget and business needs. However, there are several cloud storage service providers, making it difficult for firms to identify the right solution (Vester, 2016). Therefore, the companies must consider various factors such as service levels to make the appropriate decision. The availability and quality of functions are outlined in the service level agreement (SLA). The contract negotiations occur between the cloud services provider and its customer, which illustrates the services’ nature and standards. The cloud is known to be dynamic, and therefore it is a requirement to enforce SLAs to monitor the progress of the services. The SLA is also required to build trust by the business enterprises (clients) on the cloud provider (Patel, Ranabahu, & Sheth, 2009). It mainly crucial in the case where the customer is outsourcing its critical data and operational information to the service provider.

The security of data and privacy has consistently been an essential requirement in cloud computing services. Cloud data security includes the protection of information, data privacy, location of data, availability, and safe transmission of data. A trustworthy environment acts as a fundamental aspect that is crucial in winning the confidence of existing and potential users (Sun et al., 2014). Data loss, external malicious attacks, and disruption of services, present significant threats to organizational data in the cloud. It is a requirement to consider reputable providers who can provide assurances on various security measures such as encryption of data at all the stages of its transmission process. At the same time, the clients must obtain a guarantee from the service providers on the access to control of the data. The firm must consider a cloud storage platform that guarantees data accessibility to only authorized personnel, even when stored in the storage nodes (Roman et al., 2016).

On the other hand, it is also a requirement for the business enterprise to establish the cost of outsourcing its storage functions to cloud providers.  Transmission of data requires technical tools and financial attention to facilitate adequate bandwidth without straining the firm financially (Vester, 2016). Over recent years, several cloud storage providers have emerged, which has resulted in competitive pricing. The service providers have pricing structures that differ from one another based on the quality of the services offered. In most cases, the service’s price depends on the capacity of data that the client is willing to migrate to the cloud. Other price determinants include set-up fees, downloads, uploads, drive restores, and overall maintenance. The main aim of cloud computing and storage is to reduce operating costs and financial stress. Therefore, a company needs to review its budget and consider its needs before choosing a particular cloud storage provider.

Finally, cloud storage should ensure that all the firm’s internet devices are interconnected, and data is accessible from any of them. The system must have a login system that allows retrieval of data at any time and place (Roman et al., 2016). The firm must consider a cloud storage service that is easy to use and facilitates quick data updates. Location is also a crucial consideration in cloud data storage since it influences the availability of the information to the user. Vester 2016, argues that the availability of data is often contingent on distance. For instance, the migration of extensive data and applications of a company presents the risks of blocking it. The dangers are more severe when the data center of the storage provider is located far away from the client. Also, several countries have different laws that govern the accessibility of data; therefore, a separate location of the two parties reduces the assurances of quality services. As a result, companies must consider the cloud storage provider’s site and the size of data to be transferred before making their decision. There is also a need to have a guarantee on the recovery plan in the case of a natural disaster for data centers that are located in exposed regions.

CLUSTER ANALYSIS

Question 1a

Data mining has become one of the disruptive forms of technology that is purposed on extracting information stored on large volumes of the database. This science is influential in fields like health care, financial analysis, telecommunication and detection fields. Sequencing data mining entails collecting qualitative and quantitative data by manipulating the entities in traditional computational structured data mining using political processes (Tax et al., 2016).

Question 1b

In machine learning technology, clustering and classification are data analysis techniques in algorithms that are used to separate information where grouping entails putting together data of the same characteristics, also known as unsupervised learning techniques (Shaw, 2014). This is often used in image rendering and information retrieval procedures in vast databases. Classification involves delegating identity to a grouping of data, also known as supervised learning technic.

Question 2a

Clustering is one of the most challenging processes in machine learning and pattern recognition. However, it can be achieved using multiple algorithms. The binary average value is between a minimum amount of 0 to the maximum value of 1. The binary data set always shift to values above zero when normalizing.

Question 2 b

The clustering technique starts by describing K-means as a clustering technique where K-means is the number of clustered designated with values designated to the nearest centroid with measured proximity.

Question 2 c

When clustering, x describes an object, Ci the central cluster, ci the centroid of cluster Ci, c the centroid of all points, mi the number of objects in the group, m the amount of the dataset and k the cluster of clusters. An effective way of visualizing clusters is by sampling using the hierarchical technique (Get Unstuck/ Course Hero, n.d)

Conclusion

Data mining is a complex statistical data that requires specialized knowledge in the clustering and classification of information appropriately in a data set to conduct a correct computational data analysis in various computational fields. Clustering and classification differ in the process but have a similar purpose of predicting classes of data.

Coca-Cola Company’s Supplier Responsibility information history essay help

Coca-Cola Company’s Supplier Responsibility information

Coca Cola Company is one of the largest and worldly known organizations for mass production of non-alcoholic beverages. It has its responsibility to ensure that the working environment, employees, and other working staff rights are protected from the violation. This also ensures that the working conditions are well organized and comply with the set organizational Acts. The company’s supplier responsibility information entails some of the essential aspects of the world’s environment. For instance, the coca-cola supplier has the responsibility to ensure that child labor is not witnessed or experienced in the company. When one does a job as per his/her experience, there is a higher probability of the organization to thrive. The supplier also ensures that the health and safety in the workplace are well provided. This guarantees the employees maximum protection in their fields and ensures their health is considered.

The Coca-Cola company suppliers ensure that the environment is protected through the improvising of some interventions that provide the excellent disposal of wastes and also treating the emitted fumes before releasing them to the atmosphere. Treating such fumes could protect the people living in the area and also the entire environment (air, climate, and vegetation).  It is also the supplier’s responsibility to ensure that the integrity of the business is adhered to. For instance, the honesty and consistency of staff members are well maintained and ensure that they work as per their belief and value system. Grievance remedy and the procedure is provided. This is similar to collective bargaining, where conflict resolution is managed internally by the supplier. The management systems are assured to ensure that human rights are respected. The supplier guarantees that all these responsibilities are attended to facilitate the progress of the organization.

The commitment of the Supplier’s Code of Conduct

Coca-Cola’s supplier code of conduct is committed to ethical business practices as well as the society social responsibility. The conflicts of interest in the Coca-Cola Company require all the employees in the company to act to their best depending on the interests of the company. This prohibits the employees from having any relationship or financial deals that are unhealthy with any supplier, which might end up leading to conflicts. This is said to interfere with the obligations of employees’ responsibilities to act in the best interests of the Coca-Cola Company. For instance, the supplier is not entitled to employ anyone or make any payment request when the company is making transactions between the organization and the supplier. The company assures that there is no problem when people are involved in any friendships outside the business’ course as it is acceptable and inevitable. It happens that if the supplier of the Coca-Cola Company is involved in any relationships with an employee, he or she should ensure that he discloses the information to the management/company. This can be termed as the conflict of interest within the premises.

This is because, in their premises, employees should not accept any gifts from the suppliers and also in any illegal way without official communication from the manager. The suppliers have been entitled to keep the respective records of the company concerning any transactions being made and provide such information when needed. Also, the suppliers are prohibited from giving out confidential information to any unauthorized person. Coca-Cola’s supplier code of conduct that makes the company operate socially is bribery, and reporting misconduct by the employees. This helps in managing any case that involves illegal measures/approaches taken by a person to acquire or gain some benefits. This alerts the community that taking bribery is prohibited, and reporting should be made to anyone who violated the rules or acts differently.
